♪ Too sad to cry - Sasha Sloan ♪

It's been a week, and nothing seems to be getting better.

Your grandfather was no more the coach of the team. The hate he received was more than you could imagine. All this took a toll on his health, sending him to coma after a heart stroke.

Your aunt and uncle moved in with you, to take care of you as you were alone at home.

You dreaded school. The news about what your grandfather did spread like wild fire.

You received threats, and got nicknamed as a cheat and a betrayer. You often walked into your classroom either to find your bag soaked in water or a scribbled table.

Scribbled note books, whispers that were loud enough to reach your ears, having your things replaced by threatening notes or letters from others.

Am I that bad? It's not like I wanted to sell the team off. I barely knew any of this was happening.

I would never do that to them. They were like my own.... I loved them....... Loved... Them...

The volleyball team never looked back at you. Even when you were cornered by students, or as you simply passed by them in the hallway, you knew they didn't want to talk. Or that's what it seemed like.

"Yaku-san!", you run to reach him, two days after the incident. "We need to talk. No one else is ready to listen to me. I would never do it, you know that right? I knew nothing about-"

"(y/n) Chan, I know, most of us know you would never do it. But coach did it. We never thought he would do it either."

"What do you mean?"

"We can't have someone play us again. For the time being we don't need a manager."

⭑☾⭑

(Bf/n) was the only one who stood by you. She never left you alone, knowing that you've been going through a lot more than you could take.

"It's better to vent it out than hold it all in. You will only hurt yourself." (Bf/n) held your hand, shaking you out of your thoughts.

You rest your head on her shoulder and she slowly runs her hand on your head as you speak.

"I know, what grandad did was wrong. But what would they do if they saw someone yell at their grandfather. Stand and watch??!"

"I was confused, stuck between whom to choose." Tears keep flowing the more you try to stop them.

" I understand they don't want me as a manager anymore, but why shut me out?" Your sobs get louder, "Is this all because I did my duty as a granddaughter or is it because they just don't trust me anymore?"

(Bf/n) doesn't say anything, she just brings you into a tighter hug.

"Am I the only one hurting, will this always be this way? Are we just going to pretend like we were nothing?"

The sun was setting, the sky in shades of pink and orange. The view from the terrace of your school was mesmerising, you wanted to feel better, assure yourself that it will all be fine soon.

It was your last day of school that year, before your exams started. You wanted to spend the rest of the day with (bf/n).

"Did you talk to Kuroo?"

You laugh as you wipe a little tear. "He's been ignoring me, wouldn't expect any better either."

"Maybe it's for the best. You should move on (y/n), don't let this hold you back. You tried, you did your part."

"Don't worry, it will all be fine. It's okay."

⭑☾⭑

"Is school too hard? Is something troubling you?"

Yes.

"No! It's all fine at school, why do you ask?" You start walking to your room one day after school as your aunt follows behind you.

"You just seemed disturbed. Maybe you should try going out with your friends? You will feel better."

Friends? I don't have any.

"I'm fine, just tired as always. My friends are busy this weekend anyway."

I lied, kept lying. To both aunt and myself. Lied to myself that maybe one day, everything will get back to normal. I lied.

⭑☾⭑

"(y/n) why didn't we know any of this? You've been going through so much all by yourself."

Your class teacher had called your aunt. "I will not let you stay here anymore. Move in with us. Let's move you to Fukurodani."

"But aunt.... I still want to-"

"Please. Please come with us, okay? You start your new school year in Fukurodani now. Nekoma is your past."

⭑☾⭑

Within a week, you were miles away from nekoma, and only (bf/n) knew about it.

Almost like you were throw into an empty black pit, emptiness filled you. Nothing interested you anymore, you couldn't find happiness in anything.

You lay in your bed everyday, drowned deep in thoughts.

"Nekoma is your past."

No matter how much you try, your mind took you back to the days when you loved volleyball, when you found happiness in it. Kuroo and you, the little dates, the way he always ruffled your hair, how he showed you off to the entire team.

Now it's all bitter memories. Its gone. It's over. You had almost a month before you join Fukurodani.

It's a new beginning. And I need to make the best of it. And I will not let my past bring me down.
