It was almost ten, and y/n was still asleep. Tommy had been working on his part of their Chemistry project for the past hour and was almost done. Y/n had finished her part of the presentation when it was assigned. She was good at that. She always did her work on time and did it well. Tommy, however, waited until the last minute for everything. He always finished on time somehow, and always got a good grade. The both of them had to do well in school in order to keep streaming.

Y/n slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She sleepily reached toward her bedside table and grabbed her phone. '10:23' she read. Her phone's glow hurt her eyes and she squinted, using her hand to shield her eyes from the seemingly blinding light. She adjusted to the light and saw Tommy sitting at his desk with his computer and a notebook. He was humming along to a song that she recognized, but couldn't place it. Suddenly he blurted out "Oh but I still wanna be your favorite boy!!!" He held out the note. "I wanna be the one that makes your day, the one you think about as you lie awake!" He sounded weirdly angelic. He had a beautiful voice when he actually tried, but he only tried at singing when he thought no one was around to hear him. Little did he know, y/n was awake. 

Once he was done having his 'diva moment', y/n clapped and whistled. "Encore!" Tommy quickly looked up in shock and blushed. "Holy hell, y/n, I didn't know you were up..." "Well I am and that was BEAUTIFUL! How did you hit those notes so easily?! I've been trying for weeks!"  "Shut up, you're way better than me." To be honest, that was semi-true. She was in honors choir and had won the past two talent shows at their school. She also had a beautiful voice but had never shown it off to her fans. It was a personal thing, for now at least. 

"You shut up, you're amazing. You should show your fans how well you can actually sing on tonight's stream! They always get to listen to your little trumpet-hum things at the beginning, but why not show off how much actual talent you have?" 

"Not a chance."

"Oh come on, please?" She knew he couldn't resist her puppy dog eyes.

"Fine, but only if you sing with me.  A duet."

"Oh like in those cheesy rom-com movies?"

"Exactly like that."

"Bet."

They were excited.
