Part I - Fair

~~~
"Really? Them?" She unbelievably asked herself. "It's just the jocks, why would they make annoying noises 'cuz of them?"
Avrelyn rolled her brown eyes when young ladies heard her and threw dagger looks at her. Who wouldn't get irritated by deafening squeals especially in high pitch?
She decided not to bother them and just turned at her wristwatch for the fifth time. "Where are they?!" Her thick brows connected as she searched for two particular humans in their not-so-big court field loaded with jocks and students in green & white walking to-and-fro.
"Did they bail on me?"
She rummaged in her bag to take her phone so she could call them. Her braided black with a shade of brown hair fell on her left shoulder in the process. She was in the middle of her hunt when a voice of a guy stopped her. It was not a typical 'deep' voice. His was more of delayed puberty compared to boys his age.
"Wazzup bitch," greeted a 5'5 feet tall, young man named Caspian, or Ian for short. He was Avry's best friend. A complexion of mixed coffee and cream, hair's brushed to the side, not that handsome looking. His black backpack was hanging on his right shoulder.
"What took you so long? I've waited for years!" Avry complained as she stood up, facing her two friends. One thing she hated the most was making her wait longer than the allotted time.
"We're just 10 minutes late," Brielle, or Brie, answered calmly. A morena, has brown eyes, long, straight hair that always gives emphasis on her round face. She's blessed with a body where ladies around her age wanted oh-so-bad. Curvy body, ample bosom, and hips bigger than the average in their age. Avry would sometimes get conscious of her own body whenever she was with her.
"That's the point. I waited for 20 minutes!" Avry huffed and hanged her blue backpack on both shoulders. She was earlier by ten minutes before the assigned time, and she waited for another ten minutes because of her friends' tardiness.
Ian rolled his eyes. Avry would always get all boiled up over small things, he thought. "You never get old," he said. "Let's just go to the fair."
"Wait up," Avry stopped and looked back at the court. When she saw the one she was looking for, a dreamy smile crept on her lips. She never got tired of staring at her ultimate crush, especially when playing basketball.
"We can give you to him, right here, right now," Ian smirked and gave a meaningful gaze at his hopeless friend.
Avry's crush hadn't changed since freshman.  She said she was contented with just watching from afar instead of making the first move and finally talk to him. She had many reasons not to make the first move that her friends got tired of encouraging her to him. Ian started to think that it was abnormal for her to be fantasizing over a man for two years. Or worse, she might be falling for him.
"Nah, just by looking at him from here is enough," dismissed Avry and faced the two.
"What a tragic love story," Brie commented and exaggerated a sorrowed face.
"We don't even have an 'us' in the first place. What's the love story there?" asked Avry who started to walk, each of her friends beside her making her in the middle.
"That just makes things more tragic." Brie held her heart as if she suffered from heart disease. Ian looked at her in disbelief while Avry shook her head while giggling.
As Brie's act ended, she went back on walking like a normal person. She glanced at Avry beside her and faced the road again.  They were on their way outside the campus to go to the fair that's a kilometer away from their school.
