A young boy stared at the unmoving water, as the sounds of his family's laughter and cheers echoed through their campsite near the dark green lake. He stood along the shores of the lake, the cold water soaking up his sock-covered feet. The laughter and cheers faded, as a captivating song reached his ears. It was eerie and alluring at the same time. Not even the splashes of water caused by his little brother stopped the alluring song. He barely glanced as his little brother stopped beside him, as he too stared blankly at the lake. Ripples formed on the surface of the lake, and soon a scaly head with a weedy hair sat on it. The creature had beady bloodshot red eyes and with its razor teeth smiled at the two blank boys. It beckoned them to come closer and held out its scaly green clawed hand. The two boys smiled at each other, their eyes clouded with mirth and innocence and slowly walked to the creature. The little brother took the creature's clawed hands and grinned. With a shout, the older boy grabbed creature's hair as it screamed painfully. They dragged the pitiful creature, screaming like a banshee, as their family cheered and drew out their knives.
