"Angelo, what are we doing?"

"Watching this film you chose." He stated the obvious, motioning to the television.

"No, Angelo. I mean, are we dating? Are we friends? What?" The celestial froze, his mouth full of his newly discovered favorite. Popcorn and sugar. His mouth turned downwards into a frown, causing Gemini to look away. Stupid stupid, he thought. I'm an idiot.

"I'm not quite sure," Angelo finally exasperated. His mind wandered to what he deemed a relationship was. It was just like the movies, obviously! Kissing, holding hands, sleeping in the same bed, sex. He cringed. Lust, sin, premarital relations. Disgust sat at the bottom of his belly.

Angelo was an angel! He didn't understand mortal love. At times, he thought, "I am a cherub, I am above love" and other times, it is, " I am a cherub, I cannot–will not love."

He wondered if he was even capable of loving the way humans love. The angel felt cursed more than he felt his own divinity vibrating inside of this shell's bones. He was bound to love, to be loved, but never to love and be loved the way humans do.

Then he thought. Guilt set behind his eyes, causing his temple to pound. This poor shell's soul. He was floating in purgatory; a confused and lost soul. How selfishly had he taken over this man's body.

"Well, that's awkward." Gemini mumbled, flipping through channels aimlessly. "Lost you for a moment."

"I'm sorry," Angelo sighed, wondering if he had done something wrong. By the way Gemini's eyebrows furrowed and lips slanted, he did. "It is so easy to get lost in here." He pointed to his head, causing the man to chuckle.

"Tell me about it."

"Okay—"

"Not literally," He interrupted, laughing more at the man's cluelessness. "It's a figure of speech."

"You wouldn't understand anyway." Angelo shrugged. Gemini sneered.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Your mind couldn't begin to comprehend the things I'm weighed down with." The cherub wondered why Gemini had looked so offended. "I really wish you could. Your soul burns with purity, Gemini." I wish your prayers were the loudest in heaven. Maybe I wouldn't have fallen.

He adored Gemini. Did he find the one, as Kahlo had mentioned? His voice shook with uncertainty, but Angelo was more sworn to him than anything he'd ever been drawn to before. Gemini loved Angelo. It warmed the cherub's insides to know such a thing. It was his divinity drawing Gemini in but he adored the way it felt to be adored and loved. Being worshipped felt forced but this, this was natural. Gemini didn't know he'd fell in love with an angel.

Angelo liked him; He liked him more than eyes and sound and touch and taste and smell. But he knew something was coming, and soon. It's revolving around his energy. The endless tug of his invisible wings toward the sky, the burning of his halo and the endless hunger vibrating in his belly.

Heaven's unanswered calls come with consequences.

"This silence is heavy."

"I got lost again." Soon, he was going to become a fallen.
