As you walk down the hall with Chris, you continue hearing noises. But every time you look around you see the empty castle corridors. You hate being one of the nobles. Especially when you had to go to celebrations. You sigh as a breeze brushes over your shoulders, rustling your hair. You glance at your brother and smile. You two were always strange. Acted like lovers even though it was forbidden to be lovers. Chris glances over at you.

"Spill it. What are you thinking?"

"Us. The way we are. Why?" He looks at you curiously.

"No reason." He runs a hand through your curly hair. "Do you know how beautiful you are?" he asks you after a moment. You smile at him and roll your eyes.

"You charmer. Why don't you use your charm against the noblewomen?" you tease. He blushes and keeps walking. He stops outside the ballroom doors.

"You ready? There's a lot of suitors down there." He searches your face but you put on a confident expression.

"Let me in, Chris. You know how stubborn I am." You step into the room after he opens the doors and you start to descend the staircase to the room of suitors. You're instantly swarmed and you walk through the crowd, nose in the air. You walk up to the small stage that was erected by the stairs. You are announced and music starts playing. There are other women there as well and couples start dancing. Many men ask for a dance with you. You politely refuse. You didn't want to dance with anyone. Until you see him. You're instantly taken in by him, his mischievous yet charming smile, the way he looks you up and down. You can't help but be drawn to him. He walks towards you and you feel yourself freeze.

"May I have this dance?" You vaguely feel yourself nod and he pulls you close to him, his hand on your hip. He starts leading you around the ball room, easily keeping pace with the music.

"Who are you, might I ask?" you ask him, finding your voice.

"My name is Damon." He gives you a lopsided smirk. You smile politely at him.

"And what are you doing here?"

"Dancing with the fairest lady I could find." You blush.

"I'm sure I'm not the fairest. There's many fair ladies here." He smiles and pulls you closer so that your bodies are almost touching.

"You're the fairest I could find."

"And the most Royal, apparently." He smiles more when you say that.

"That, my dear, is simply a bonus."
