Prologue

   Vampires. Werewolves. Witches and Warlocks. These are the things I've obsessed over since the age of seven. And now I am one. I won't tell you which one; you'll have to continue reading.

   You smile as you read your diary, the log you entered several years ago. You giggle at yourself. You love pretending to be those things. It's always been fun. You sigh. It's been years since you pretended to be any of those things. You hear a creak behind you and whirl around. Nothing. You suspiciously turn back around and force your racing heartbeat to slow itself. Just as you get yourself to calm down, hands grab your shoulders and you whirl around.

   "Jesus Chris! Don't do that to me!"

   "Sorry (Y/N)..." Chris looks at you sheepishly. "Didn't mean to startle you." You nod at him. You shiver and look at yout window; it's wide open. You walk over to it and pull the curtains shut. He sits on your bed and picks up your diary.

   "Didn't think you still wrote in this." Chris glances up at you.

   "I don't." You walk over to him and take the diary from him, shoving it under your mattress. He walks over to your closet.

   "No maid today?" He turns back to you and you look at your closet from the bed.

   "Unless you want to help me." He blushed and turned back towards your closet, grabbing a soft blue dress. He turns back to you and smiles shyly. He gently lays the dress on the bed and walks towards you. You smiles at him and turn around so he can unlace your shift. As he undoes the last stubborn knot, your shift flutters gently to the ground. He picks up the corset and looks at it with disgust.

   "Do you want the corset?" You shake your head. You hate the tightness of it. Chris nods and pulls the dress off your bed with a flourish. He holds it out so you can step into it and he pulls it up your body; nimbly lacing it up faster than the maids would have.

   "Thank you Chris." You turn towards your brother and smile. He nods and offers you his arm.

   "My pleasure, sister."
