I don't know how long I've been running, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I feel like the throne room was just a couple steps away from my cell last time I was there. Why hadn't I found it yet? Not that I wanted to. I wanted to find Delia, and I don't think she'd be in the throne room.I hadn't seen any demons yet. That worried me a little, but I tried not to think about it. I had to concentrate on finding Delia.
I tried to think. What did Delia look like? Surprisingly, I started to remember. She was actually kinda pretty. If she hadn't kept telling people that she saw demons, she could've been pretty popular.
She had curly blonde hair, blue eyes, and a face that would be beautiful if she smiled. I think I'd recognize her if I saw her, even after so many years had passed. But then again, I don't know. Maybe hell had totally changed her features. Maybe it had changed my features. I hadn't looked in a mirror since...well....I don't remember.
I slowed down. I guess I finally realized that running wasn't getting me anywhere. And I'm exhausted. I wonder if there is anywhere I can hide.
I saw a door open to my right.
Now that I look back on it, it was a stupid idea to go through that door, but I did it anyway.
The room was dark. There didn't seem to be anything (or anyone) in it. But as my eyes adjusted, I saw a big table in the middle of the room. It was cluttered with sheets of paper and.....3D models of Satan's head??? That's weird.
I reached out and grabbed a handful of papers.
Then I heard footsteps. Quickly, I hid behind a little table at the back of the room. Three demons came in.
"....use them."
"need....both."
"......find.....only works......together."
".....think....knows?"
"............she."
They apparently had just jumped into this room to have a conversation without anyone else hearing them, because they left immediately after their conversation. I only heard little bits of it, but it sounded like they needed two people to work together for something to work.
I hope this plan, or whatever it was, doesn't include me, but with my luck it probably does.
I was still crouching under the table. I jumped up and, after looking to make sure the hallway was clear, left the room.
I needed to find somewhere to stay, some little cave somewhere. I continued down the hall, and when I came to a crossroads, took a right. Wait. Stop. There's demons down there. I spun around on my heel and turned left.
This hallway was small. Thankfully, it was empty. I didn't see any rooms along it. I walked down it. It weaved turned and sometimes crossed over itself. I sat down on a rock to rest.
As I got lower to the ground, I saw something. Along the bottom of the walls, hidden by a rock outcropping, there was a little opening. I'm sure I can fit through it. I got down on my belly, and starting crawling towards it.
I went head first. Probably would've been smarter to go feet first, but it turned out all right. I made it through the opening, and into a small cave. I was big enough that I could lie down stretched out in it, but that was about it. From some hole in the top, light shone in.
As a sat down, by stomach growled. I can't believe I didn't remember to bring food. Or water. I am such an idiot. I lay the papers down beside me, resolving to look at them in the morning. I fell asleep.
