The Chest of Drawers

When I woke up, I was in a bed like a hospital bed. Instead of everything being white, like it is in a hospital, it was red. I wanted to shut my eyes, and fall asleep again, but I wasn't tired at all. In fact, I was full of energy.

I tried to move, and immediately my shoulder hurt. I looked down my left arm. It was red, and burned. The shoulder would not move. I tried to get up again. I put some weight on my left arm, and it hurt so bad that I screamed.

I lay back down on the bed. I cant believe this is happening to me. My mom always said that one day you'll look back at the hard times and laugh. Yah, right, like I would ever laugh at this.

I heard footsteps. I didn't want anyone to come and take me back out there. I was scared.

The door opened. It was Jose. I tried to back away form him. Tears were running down my cheeks.

"Get away from me!!" I screamed.

"Calm down."

"No! You were trying to kill me!!"

"No, I wasn't!"

"What do you call forcing me to go near Satan?"

"Don't call him that!"

"I'll call him what I want to call him. Fact is, you tried to kill me! I trusted you, well as much as you can trust a demon in hell!"

"Love..."

"I'M NOT YOUR LOVE!!!"

Jose got angry. "Yes you are!!"

He stormed out of the room. I cried. I heard footsteps again. 'Good,' I thought. 'Jose is coming to back apologize.'

The door opened. It was Alphos. I groaned.

"Don't groan at me," he snapped. "I'm here to help."

"You are?"

"No. Haha, you fell for that. I'm a demon. You're in hell. Why would I help you? No, I've come down to make your suffering worse."

"Nobody can make my suffering worse. I'm already suffering as much as is possible."

"Oh, really? Is that a bet?"

"No, no, it's not." I was scared. I shouldn't have 'challenged' him.

"Are you contradicting me?" He yelled.

He slapped me, then stormed out of the room. My cheek was bleeding. I cried some more, and fell asleep. When I woke up, the room was pitch black. I couldn't see anything. I waved my hand (the right one, because the left one was still burned) in front of my face. I couldn't even see that.

The door opened. It was a demon I'd never seen before. A girl. She looked small and timid, but she was had scales and horns. She motioned for me to come with her.

I got off the bed. She led me back to a cell like my old one, but bigger, and the door wasn't bars. It was solid iron. The bed was the same as my old one. In fact, everything was the same. But there was a little more floor space, and the chest of drawers was a little bigger. I had never opened the drawers in my old cell because I had been afraid of what I would find.

She pushed me towards the bed. I sat down. She tried to push me so that I was lying down, but I struggled against her and stood up.

Immediately, she whistled. It was a high pitched, unearthly sound. Two demons (guards, I guess they were) came in and one of them injected something into my arm.

I blacked out. I don't know how long I was out, but when I came back to, one of my feet and one of my hands were chained to the wall. It was long enough so that I could walk around the room, but I couldn't touch the door. I decided to open the drawers, seeing as I had nothing better to do. I approached the chest of drawers.

I hadn't noticed before, each drawer was a different color. There were seven of then, all one on top of the other. One was black, then, going down, there was dark purple, dark green, dark blue, dark red, an ugly dark goldish, yellowish color, and finally, the first I'd seen in hell, there was white.

It wasn't a pretty white, in fact it was extremely dirty, but it was white.

I stretched out my hand to open the black drawer. The knob felt cold. I slid it open and inch. I was scared out of my skin. Spirits flooded into my room.

Just kidding, nothing happened. I opened it some more, and stood on my tiptoes to look inside. Nothing. Wait, no. There was a rolled up piece of paper (it looked like a ..... Scroll? Is that the word. I don't know. I'll just call it that).

The scroll was black. I took it out and laid it on my bed. I opened up the purple drawer. I found another scroll, the same as the one I found in the black drawer, but this scroll was purple.

The rest if the drawers each had a scroll in them too, each one the color of the drawer it was in. I laid them all on my bed, in the order I had taken them out. The colors went from darkest to lightest.

I didn't really want to open them, but I guess I had no other choice. I mean, I'd taken them out of the drawers, and there was really no better thing to do.

I picked up the black scroll and unrolled it. It had one big black word on it. GOD. What? I'd heard about him. In fact, my friend Annah was a Christian, I believe, and she talked about him sometimes. She called him good, took down evil. Hmm. Like a big old superhero in the sky. Yah, right.

I opened the next scroll. It also had a big black letter. WILL. Next scroll. SAVE. The blue scroll said YOU. The next scroll said FROM. The ugly yellow one said YOURSELF. The last one was blank.

"No," I yelled. "I need more!" I pushed the scrolls off my bed, and went back to sleep. I sleep a lot down here. It's the only thing to do. After I woke up again, I realized that I was so hungry, I felt sick. I looked around. On a tray on the floor was a dry piece of bread.

I snatched it up, and gnawed on it. The outside was burning hot, and the inside was freezing, but I didn't care. I was so hungry, I would've eaten anything.

As I finished eating, my eyes fell on the scrolls. The white one was missing. I looked in the white drawer again. The scroll was back in the drawer. It still said nothing.

I angrily threw it back in the drawer. Then I realized that the lights were getting dimmer. I could've climbed back into bed, but I stayed there in the floor, and fell asleep. That night, I dreamed about 'Demon Delia'.
