Prologue

"You know what you are, Grace? You're a sinner! Do you not remember everything brother Tom has preached to us? How could you do this!?"

My mom was yelling in my face. My aunt was shaking her head, thinking I was the biggest disgrace as she had her arms crossed and was giving me the look.

Anthony and Ryan was standing in the back, taking it all in as we just came back home from our trip up North.

I didn't know that once I arrived back home that the whole town would hate me.

"Everyone knows, Grace. Everyone in the whole town knows what you did! It's all over everywhere." She sighs before running her hand through her hair. "I can't believe this. I'm so ashamed right now."

I didn't know that just a month ago would be the start of a fire that I couldn't put out myself. I wasn't ready for the consequences that were waiting for me as soon as I saw her.

Then everything came crashing down the moment my eyes met hers and I started to sin.
