Sinner: Twenty six

I apologize for the lack of updates! 

"Grace?"

I heard mom call my name by the time she came home from work. I was in the kitchen making something to eat when I heard the front door shut then her voice.

She walked in the kitchen then smiled at me before placing a folder on the counter. "Hey, sweetie. How was your day?"

Nodding, I poured a glass of soda before looking over at her. "Good. How was your day?"

She sighs then looks at me. "Stressful but I'm glad to be home. Did Brenda come by today?"

"Yeah." I nod as I watched her take out her phone before walking out of the kitchen. I looked at the entrance a little longer before turning my attention to the soda as I got done pouring it.

After I took a few sips, I leaned on the counter for a moment before thinking about Miranda. I thought about earlier and how she said she was going to talk to mom about whatever she was going to talk to her about.

I knew it had to be something with us but wasn't sure on what she would say.

Then there's aunt Brenda, who came in at the worst time. She knew what was going on cause I could see it on her face and that right there was enough to scare me a little.

I knew how my aunt was and she was going to get inside mom's head about everything that had to do with Miranda.

Mom was supportive but aunt Brenda was not.

She's talked mom out of a lot of things before cause she's a manipulator and she'll make mom turn her mind around about what she already told me.

As I was standing there, thinking in my own head, I heard my phone go off as I was getting a call from snapchat. I picked it up to see that it was Anthony calling and I smiled as I answered it.

"Hello?"

"You busy?"

I look around then shrug. "Not really. Why?"

"We're coming to get you."

Smiling, I slightly chuckle. "Ok. Sounds like a plan. I'll get ready."

After we hung up, I finished my soda before placing the glass in the sink before walking out of the kitchen. I caught mom as she was walking from the living room then she stopped as I did the same thing.

"That was Brenda.. she told me that she saw Miranda over here today."

"What did she say?" I asked, already knowing it was going to be bullshit.

She sighs before looking down at her phone. "She said that she was confused as to why she was here after hearing everything that went on between you two."

"What did you say?"

"I told her that it was my house and I wasn't going to deny our neighbor from coming over. I mentioned that it was nothing but rumors and she needed to understand that."

Smiling, I pull her into a hug as she did the same thing. "Thanks mom." When we pull back, I look at her for a moment. "Miranda said she wanted to talk to you."

"Ok."

"Anthony and Ryan is coming to get me. I don't know why or what for."

She smiles. "Ok, sweetie. Have fun."

After she walked away, I went upstairs to my room to get ready. I kept glancing over at the window with Miranda on my mind, not knowing what was coming in the near future but hope it was something good.
