The cool morning air hits your exposed skin, making you shiver. Watching the morning sunrise was a habit you made simply because of how jaw dropping the view of the Han river was at dawn. The orange, morning light trickled past the skyscrapers on the other side of the river. The reflected light resembled amber jewels.

You take out the small bag of bread you brought with you. Immediately, the creatures that frequented the area came to you, knowing their breakfast was about to be served.

"Ohri-sshi, you should share more with your friends." You lightly scold the duck that greedily picked up most of the pieces of bread you tossed. After a few minutes other creatures tentatively came by.

Warmly conversing with the birds and squirrels that munched on the bread, you delightfully grin at the tranquil feeling that washed over you. Even after 10 years, the world was still changing and adapting, but there were still parts of the world that would never change.

The sudden sound of your phone ringing makes some of the animals run away. Frowning you pull your phone out of your pocket. But when you see the caller ID you begin to smile.

"Song-Yi, hello. Did you sleep well?" Warmly greeting the highschooler you begin to stand up, pocketing the almost empty bag of bread. You could always come back later or tomorrow, you still had that dreaded 10 kilometer run.

"Yes, unnie. I just wanted to ask if we could change my schedule for this week." You hum in confusion. Hahn Song-Yi was the highschool part-timer at your cafe who recently was Awakened. Despite you telling her that she should be focusing on school, she was just as stubborn as you. "I want to switch to night shifts."

"Night shifts?" You frown. Was Song-Yi finally going to focus more on school? If she took over the night shifts she wouldn't be able to attend any extra cram classes, but for her to actually go to school would be good enough. However, you knew the young girl better. "If there's something going on at home, you know you can always stay at my place."

"Ah, my parents aren't too happy that I'm skipping school more these days." She confessed and you inwardly sigh, trying not to make the teen more guilty. She was a hard worker and determined, but her stubbornness was placed in the wrong things. She wanted to become a hunter of all things even though she was ranked the lowest class. "If you could, that would be a really big help, unnie."

"Do you at least promise to study hard for the midterm and final exams?" Pointedly asking the student, you stop in the middle of the walkway. Luckily there were almost no passerbys in sight.

"Yes, of course." Song-Yi cheered excitedly. "I promise to do my best."

"I know." You smile as you begin to keep walking. By this time, the sun was almost fully out of the horizon. The grinning ball of fire brightened the sky, telling you that you should make your way back. "Song-Yi, I'll see you later today?"

"On time, I promise unnie. Bye!" She ends the call and you're stuck with the silence of the morning. You let out a long breath.

Looking up at the sky you feel a bare slick of humidity despite the clear skies. It would rain tomorrow, you were sure of it. No normal person could feel the slightest detection of factors in the environment, but going through almost a year or two of harsh training, your perception was off the charts. You could practically read minds and predict the future.

The familiar tti-ring sound makes you instinctively look up. The message makes you confused as you stare up at it. But before you could react, it disappears before your eyes.

[A new 'Player' has entered your vicinity]
