Chapter 4

As soon as he grabbed you, your body instinctively emitted the same energy as shown in your eyes. You stare at him, observing him. He felt quite powerful, not matching up to you, but he still could do some amounts of damage.

"Who are you?" You ask him.

Something about him seemed like you knew each other from before, but you know that you never forgot a face. He's about to speak when a familiar sound rings in the air.

[You have met another 'Player']

[Will you join as a team?]

"Team?" He breaths aloud. You freeze up at the word. There's no way he could see the system, too. Was he the other player that entered your vicinity?

"You can see that?" You point at the floating notification you saw. He looks confused for a moment before his face turns into a look of shock.

"Wait. You're in the system?" You pause before slowly nodding, not sure if you could quite trust him.

Was it even possible for the system to have multiple players? It would make sense to have multiple players since the system was like any video game, but for it to happen after all the time you had the system was unreal.

"Accept 'Player' invite." You speak out loud, for a few moments nothing happens and you gesture for the tall man to do the same. As soon as he finishes his command, another set of 'notifications' appear alongside yours.

"What the hell?" You both had your player statuses shown where both of you could see each other's stats. Agreeing with him, you're shocked to see that his level was around half of yours.

"Sung Jin-woo?" Saying his name out felt as if you stamped a permanent contract. His head is whipped to yours as he nods in response to you saying his name. "I guess... we're teammates now."

"Yeah..." He trails off as both of you stare at the words only you two could see. The words seem unreal. After almost a year and half of the system, you finally find someone else. It's like an oasis in a never ending desert. For now, it didn't matter what kind of person he was, you finally had someone like you.

"Nice to meet you, teammate."

Walking through the grocery store, you carefully stared at each and every apple that caught your eye, observing it's freshness and color before placing it in your already half-full bag. Thinking a bit, you wondered if Song-I liked eating apples. She's always mentioned she liked the little fruit tarts from the cafe, but you weren't sure about actual fruits.

Your hand reaches out to take another when your hand seems to wrap around something that definitely was not a fruit. Feeling strange warmth, you immediately pull your hand away, sputtering an apology. "Oh my god, I'm so sor-"

You cut yourself when you realize who's hand you accidentally grabbed. "Sung... Jin-woo?"

"Oh. It's you." He points out, pulling the apple you were about to grab in his own bag. "Grocery shopping?"

"Yeah..." You nod, ignoring that slight annoyance of the meaningless apple being taken away in front of your eyes.

It was barely a day since the two of you met. Unfortunately, the first meeting the other night was cut short when Joo-hyun found out you were still in the vicinity. So the two of you exchanged numbers and left.
