Chapter 2, pro tip, don't think about your router whilst fucking your boyfriend

Ellie half walked, half stumbled down her road, she knew exactly where she was going, she had walked this way a million times (very drunk on more than one occasion).
She needed to see him, to talk to him, to be close to him, she needed to feel him, to remember why she was with him. What had just happened went way further than it should've, she knew that. But there was something in the back of her mind that wanted her to go back.
She stood in front of the familiar red door, it was comforting for some reason, she pressed a hand up against it. And took a deep breath before knocking.
Kyle answered the door,
"Babe, why're you here?"
"I just- i-" she stuttered, before falling into his arms. "I missed you"
"Oh i- i missed you too", he held her for a while, not knowing what was wrong, just knowing something wasn't right. Eventually she pulled away.
"Can I come inside?"
"Of course", they went in. Ellie's phone buzzed in her pocket. She took it out and checked who it was. Tommy was calling her. She answered it, putting the phone to her ear.
"Hello?" she asked
"Hello, thought you should know my tea is ready" he said
"Fuck off Tommy"
She hung up .
A few moments later a notification popped up from Tommy on the discord server.

No reply

Ellie looked up and shook her head as her and Kyle burst into laughter. Tommy could always be counted on to provide subtle and unknowing entertainment. The laughter subsided and silence replaced it.They looked at each other, Ellie knew that look, she knew what was going to happen. Kyle reached his hand towards her and pulled her to him by her waist. This felt right, familiar, but she was less excited than she had been earlier. She pushed the thought of Rou out of her mind, this was Kyle, she loved him, nothing else mattered. He leaned in, their lips met and any doubt left Ellie's mind, this is what she wanted. He breathed heavily, his soft hands making their way up her body, bringing her shirt with them. She lifted up her arms, giving him silent permission, he pulled it over her head.
He grabbed her by the hand and pulled her up to his room, she knew the way as they had made this journey many times before.
He pushed her backwards toward the bed, she fell on her back and smiled up at him. He pulled his shirt off in one swift movement, she bit her lip at him, as he ran his hand across her stomach and down her hips. Kyle pulled his jeans off before leaning over her, his lips ghosted an inch above hers. She held her breath. After what seemed like an eternity he brought his lips down to meet hers, they kissed, he bit her bottom lip, she let her lips part. They kissed violently, Ellie couldn't help but let her mind drift to Rou.

His hands pulled her jeans down, and left them resting just above her knees. His breath ghosted on her thighs. His fingers moved further up, slowly, Ellie didn't say anything but she pulled him closer.
She moaned "oh god Rou"
He stopped and stood up suddenly. "What did you just say?"
Ellie sat up and stuttered "i- i didn't mean-"
"Did you just say Reu? Like Reuben?"
"NO! Oh god no!"
"You're fucking reuben?"
"No Kyle i swear it's not that"
"Then who?"
She didn't say anything. Kyle stood up, "i think you should leave"
Ellie stood up and re-dressed silently, walking down the hall. "I'll call you later?"
"Don't bother" He slammed the door behind her.
She sighed. Well, she had royally fucked that up hadn't she?

She walked home in silence, she knew she should be more upset about it, but couldn't bring herself to feel a loss. What was wrong with her? She reached her front door, her hand paused as she slid the keys into the lock. She couldn't face Rou, not after she'd just left him like that. Ellie sat down against her door and pulled out her phone, hoping there would be a notification from Kyle. Nothing. She had to tell someone. She clicked on her contacts and scrolled down to Jamie.
"Hello,"
Silence.
"Ellie?"
"Jamie... I messed up."
"Oh dear, what's happened," she explained everything.
"If we didn't live so far away from each other I would punch that router in the face"
"Thanks," she said, half laughing, half crying.
"I think this calls for some serious reinforcements," he left the call. A few moments later Lily's name appeared, Jamie had obviously told her everything. Ellie picked up.
"Hey, Jamie told me what happened. Ellie i know i am biased as i think your boyfriend is an asshole"
Suddenly, Rhythm joined the call and started playing 'your new boyfriend', Ellie giggled.
"But" Lily continued, "are we 100% sure this is a bad thing?"
"Lily" Jamie suddenly shouted, "go onto the call vc 2. now"
She sighed "he's going to shout at me now, i'll be back"
Ellie smiled again as both of her friends left the call.
They were back a minute later.
"Okay, Jamie said i should apologise for being insensitive," Lily sounded incredible unapologetic as she continued "so i am so very, incredibly sorry Ellie"
"Lily i swear to god-"
"Jamie will you shut up and let me talk to Ellie"
"No, i will not! you're being incredibly unhelpful"
"I respectfully disagree"
"I don't care if you disagree, i will kick you from this call i swear to god"
"No you won't"
"Why wouldn't i?"
"I've got too much blackmail on you Jamie" she sounded pleased.
"Im sorry, can we get back to my problem please?" Ellie interrupted their bickering
"Yes Jamie" Lily said, "let's get back to the actual problem at hand, which i am not being insensitive about at all"
Ellie heard Jamie sigh but he didn't say anything else.
"Ellie i suggest waiting a couple days before talking to Kyle, give him time to cool off"
"Yeah" Jamie added "i hate to admit it but i agree with Lily"
"Fuck you Jamie"
"Don't make promises you can't keep" he replied swiftly
Ellie laughed, her friends were helping, even if they didn't realise it. She knew they were right, Kyle would cool off after a while and she could explain properly. Though, how she would explain she wasn't sure.
She zoned back in to listen to her friends.
"Lily you cannot keep bringing this up"
"Jamie WANTS TO FUCK TECHNOBLADE"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP"
She laughed aloud, "how often do you have this argument?"
"Too often" Jamie muttered
"Just because he won't admit it"
"I do not want to fuck technoblade"
"No" Lily conceded but before Jamie could say anything she added "you want technoblade to fuck you"
"FUCK OFF"
"Jamie you have to admit it at some point"
"I will block you"
"No you won't"
"Try me"
"Jamie we all know you love me too much for that"
"Bullshit"
Ellie interrupted "can you stop flirting-"
"WE ARE NOT FLIRTING" they both shouted down the phone at the same time.
She sighed, "you're making me feel more single than i am"
"You're not single" Lily consoled "you're just... on a break"
"Like ross and rachel? We know how well that worked out for them"
"It worked out in the end!"
"Oh god, Kyles going to have sex with the girl at the copier store,"
"At least he's not fucking technoblade" Ellie laughed, but was doubtful, Kyle had seemed really upset, and no wonder, she'd gone way too far with Rou and then said his name while they were-... she couldn't think about it. They were right, in a few days she would see where he was. Maybe this could work out, although hopefully it wouldn't take as long as it did with Ross and Rachel.
As much as she loved them, Ellie couldn't concentrate on other people right now, she said goodbye and disconnected from the call.
She opened the door, she may not be able to talk to Kyle right now but the least she could do was make things right with Rou. She closed the door and turned around, Rou walked into the hallway.
"Oh" he said, a hint of confusion evident in his voice
"Nice to see you to"
"I didn't think you'd come back for a while"
"Well I'm here now," she looked down and sighed, this was going to be harder than she thought.
"I need to tell you something"
"What is it"
"I need to explain to you what just happened," It seemed only fair, this was going to make him even more big-headed but she couldn't deny what she'd said.
"I went to Kyle's house once I left"
"Oh?"
"We- well we didn't talk much, we just kind of-"
"I can guess what you did," he said angrily, turning away from her.
"But"
"But?"
"I said your name, I was with Kyle but I said your name"
"Oh-"
"He kicked me out, I didn't get a chance to explain," not that she really could've.
"You said my name?"
"I did"
"You were thinking of me?"
"I was." he said nothing. He sat down on the stairs and moved across, an invitation for her to sit down too. She did.
"You know how I feel about you Ellie," there it was, her name again. It was kind of a relief, now she knew whatever he was about to say was serious.
"I think you feel the same way, you just can't bring yourself to admit it," he was right, she did feel the same, but she was also in love with Kyle, that's why she couldn't admit.
"Elanor, you don't have to hide anything from me"
"Yes i do"
"Why?"
"Because" she stood up, "youre a fucking router. This is weird. This is like some kind of fucking wattpad fanfic in real life"
He looked up at her and laughed "y/n" he teased "y/n don't you love me?"
She couldn't stop a smile from teasing at her lips, "you're an idiot"
"I'm your idiot"
She smiled and sat back down, leaning her head against his shoulder.
"I don't know what to do, rou"
"You don't have to make a decision now"
"Okay, thank you. I'm going to go and talk to my friends"
"Okay, I'll make sure you have a good connection" he winked, she giggled and walked upstairs.

Ellie joined vc 1.
"Hey loser," Lily said, a smile evident in her voice, "how's the sexy- I mean... how's the router?"
Ellie laughed "hes okay. Well. i dont know its weird"
"Wanna talk about it?"
"No. not right now"
"Okay fair enough"
"Imma go shout at Jamie to join the realm, we need to finish this community house and i don't wanna do any work"
"Okay cool"
The familiar ping sounded in Ellie's ears.
"Hey," Jamie' voice could be heard.
"Hi there" Tommy was also here
"Why do you need me?" Jamie asked
"We need wood" Lily said, "for the community house"
Tommy chuckled "Lily needs Jamie' wood"
Tommy was kicked from the call.
He joined back again immediately, laughing. "I'm not sorry, that was funny"
"Fuck you" Lily said
"Nah i'll leave that to Jamie"
"Can you fuck off Tommy"
Ellie laughed aloud, she could feel herself cheering up.

They continued playing Minecraft, Tommy and Lily making many more jokes about Jamie' wood. Each innuendo becoming worse.

Kyle joined the call. Ellie swore. Lily noticed and quickly kicked him from the call.
"Thanks," Ellie whispered, and Lily didn't reply.

Ellie watched this play out, desperate to join in but knowing she couldn't, it was too soon. She had to talk to him though, it was eating away at her. She went downstairs, some fresh air would do her good. As she grabbed her keys to head out, Rou appeared next to her.
"Where are you going Elanor?"
"Out"
"Can i come with you?"
"No" she replied forcefully. She knew she was being unnecessarily rude, and it wasn't his fault, not really. But she was pissed off.
