The Marauders stood, on September 1st, 10:00 am, on Platform 9¾. Most were returning to the school that was Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but for some, the first years, it was their first time going to Hogwarts. The Marauders were excited for this year. It was their final year at Hogwarts. It meant Quidditch, pranks, planning, pranks, sweets, pranks, and a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who they heard was very skilled, and a few parties here and there. Oh, and was pranks mentioned?
A few sixth years, which consists of James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, Remus Lupin and lastly Giavanna Lupin. They, the small group, were notoriously well known as the group named The Marauders. The Marauders were a very tight knit group, they hadn't let anyone in since they formed the group, and had nicknames them and them alone would understand. They were a group that everyone envied and wished they could be a part of. They are well known for their fabulous pranks that never seemed to fail to impress, were oddly clever and spectacularly mischievous, all in a group of its own. Well, it impressed everybody, all but one group. The Slytherin Court.
The Slytherin Court, well, they were different cases. They were the second well known group, a group of six which has Evangeline and Severus (or known to them, Snivellus) Mikaelson, Narcissa and Regulus Black, who were cousins, Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Black, who was Narcissa's sister. They were the Slytherin Court. The Marauders were sure at least half of them would or are working for Voldemort.
Sirius Black, he had hair that owned up to his name with longish black hair that went just to his shoulders. He had grey eyes that were also infamous among the Black brothers. He also supported a smirk that most would say was a cocky grin. He was considered the heartthrob of Hogwarts.
Peter Pettigrew was a short boy, the shortest of the group, and almost always had some sort of sweet or food in his mouth. He had light brown hair, and the lightest brown eyes of all the group and was by far the quietest and the most shy.
Remus Lupin was a tall boy, second to Sirius. He had messy brown hair, the second lightest of the groups (Peter coming in first). He had brown eyes as well. He had scars that were spread across the face (why, few people knew) and he'd almost always have a genuine smile across his face and a book in his hand.
James Potter was a boy with black hair, that no matter what you did to it, no matter how much hair gel was put in it, was never tame-able. He had hazel eyes that were behind glasses. And his eyes, like Sirius', were always screaming 'mischief here!". He was also said to be in love with Lily Evans and few people knew about the truth with that, not even all the Marauders knew the truth about it.
Giavanna Lupin, or as most called her, Gianna, had a sandy brown shade of slightly-wavy-straight hair and green eyes. She was also level headed. But the difference is she was only level headed when need be. She sometimes could be considered crazy, and was unbelievably protective of the Marauders—but she was only like that when needed. She was also brilliant at her potions classes. For the most part however, Gianna Lupin was a girl with a sweet smile, welcoming eyes, and brilliance shown through her pranks.
The Marauders were all standing by Fleamont and Euphimia Potter, James' parents. But they also couldn't help but notice how the Slytherin Court were all whispering amongst each other, looking between the Marauders. Not long after the group had made their observation, Fleamont and Euphimia had said their goodbyes and left. And not long after that, the Marauders watched as the Slytherin Court made their way over.
It was no secret that Slytherin House ran like an empire, or rather, a court, hence their name.
Evangeline and Severus Mikaelson were the head; the king and queen, if you would. They were the head of Slytherin House, and the head of the Slytherin Court. The top of Slytherin's hierarchy. The other houses would like to believe that they don't have that type of hierarchy, but it was also no secret how the other students of Gryffindor admired and looked up to the Marauders, and other houses had smaller, not as well known, groups that members in those houses looked up to.
Regulus, Sirius' brother, was no secret the next in line, second in command. Bellatrix Black came next, and then Narcissa Black and Lucius Malfoy, who were to be wedded.
The Marauders did not question why the hierarchy was in that order—they simply did not care.
The Marauders remained unmoving as the Court approached them. They knew this was most likely some sort of sneer. All the Court ever did was play games with people. Right now, the Marauders already knew they were the next target.
Evangeline's smirk widened. She addressed Remus.
"Mr. Lupin." Remus went just slightly tense in the shoulders. "I do hope that your summer was all right. After all, I can't imagine how difficult it is being... the lone wolf."
The Marauders listened to Evangeline speak, and as she put emphasis on the last three words, the group tensed, surely she couldn't know.
"I'm not sure what you mean," Remus replied smoothly. His typical warm tone was gone, as it always was talking to the Court. Evangeline only gave one nod in turn.
The Marauders knew that she was causing trouble on purpose, for all they knew, she knew nothing and was just jibing at them in her boredom.
"Course not," she grinned back. "I'm merely stating that it must be difficult to spend the break alone. Especially when the moon is full. Unless... you're not alone."
Gianna could feel her brother's tense emotions, and subtly watched as his jaw clenched. Evangeline only grinned even more.
Sirius, being the way he was, took an intimidating step forward at his full height at 6'4". Gianna could only guess that Evangeline was at 5'10", the same height as her and her brother, and was only an inch shorter than James.
"What are you suggesting here, Mikaelson?" he hissed lowly, quietly. The Marauders knew this wasn't a time where they needed to draw attention to them.
Evangeline ignored his questions, and turned back to Remus.
"Just remember to keep on the down low, Little Wolf." Giavanna watched as her brother paled rapidly. "It would be a shame for some secrets to fall into the wrong hands."
The Marauders watched icily as the Slytherin Court walked away.
Gianna cursed mentally, how could they know? Sure, they weren't the most discreet at times, but surely they weren't that obvious either.
The warning bell for the train rang out, but Gianna watched unmoving as the Slytherin Court made their way inside the train. Her normally warm, inviting eyes were ice cold, and her stance was tense. How could someone be so evil at times? Her eyes follow the group.
"Hey," James nudged her. He looks at the Court, then back to her. She turns her attention to him. "Com'on, they're not worth it."
She nodded her head and followed him to the Hogwarts Express, and soon in their booth, things went back to normal, a playful, excited air floating about as they headed to Hogwarts for their last year.
