Elsa's POV

I stumbled back a few steps. This wasn't going well. Jack continued to advance.

"Jack, it's me! Elsa! Don't you recognize me?" I asked. Jack didn't reply. I couldn't use my powers against him!

"Jack..." I pleaded. I was backed against a wall, and he was almost to me. I didn't know what to do. Pitch and Tempest were watching this happily from the far side of the room. I pressed myself to the wall, hoping that some miracle would save me. No matter what they did, I wasn't going to hurt Jack. He was standing right in front of me now. If I reached out, I could have touched him.

"Jack, it's me. Elsa. Your girlfriend. We went to a dance together. You gave me a locket. Please remember Jack." I begged. Tears streamed down my cheeks. Jack didn't reply. He pulled the sword back and prepared to stab me. Then I saw something. But it was too late. The sword drove towards me, and a blur of blue an white fur came between me and Jack.

"Bunny!" I exclaimed. I caught him as he fell to the floor. Jack pulled the sword back. Then he took a few steps back.

"Let them go Jack. Let the darkness take him. The guardians will learn to fear us." Pitch said. Jack turned and walked back towards Pitch, and he snapped his fingers. All of the darklings vanished. I set Bunny on the floor. His breathing was ragged.

"Not... the first time... me and old Jack... have come to blows." He chuckled weakly. I smiled through my tears.

"You're going to be ok Bunny. Just let me see that cut." I said. Bunny moved his hands, and I gasped.

"Does it look bad?" He asked. I shook my head. And I was being honest. There was no cut. No blood. Just a black patch of fur. I gently touched it. No blood. No cut. He looked perfectly fine. Bunny lifted his head and looked at it.

"Huh. That's interesting." He said. He sat up slowly, then climbed to his feet even more slow.

"Not an ordinary sword I'll bet." He muttered. The other guardians all woke up slowly. When they saw me and Bunny, they hurried over.

"What happened?" North asked.

"My ice and Tempest's lightning collided, making a bright explosion. She tried to convince me that she was just like me. Then Pitch appeared, and he said he would give me Jack. Jack appeared, but..." Tears filled my eyes. I couldn't finish.

"But he wasn't Jack. His hair was black. His eyes were amber. His clothes were black, and he had a black sword. He was going to kill Elsa, but he got me instead." Bunny said, pointing at the black patch of fur. North closed his eyes and shook his head sadly.

"He's finally done it. Pitch managed to transfer his darkness into a mortal." North said.

"What does that do?" Tooth asked.

"It makes it so that he has complete control over the person he does it to." North explained.

"No." I said abruptly.

"No?" Bunny asked.

"He doesn't have complete control over Jack." I said.

"Elsa, how can you say that? He just tried to kill you!" Bunny exclaimed.

"No. Well, yes. Sort of. But I saw something! For a second, right before he stabbed." I said.

"And what did you see that assured you of Jack's innocence?" Bunny asked grumpily.

"His eyes turned blue." I said. Everyone was silent. Then North put a hand on my shoulder.

"Elsa... I'm not really sure how to say this. He's not the boy you once loved. Now he's a puppet controlled by Pitch." North said. I shrugged him off.

"You don't understand! I know what I saw! Jack's still in there somewhere. And I won't rest until I get him out, even if you won't help me!" I declared. I turned around and willed myself to turn into a spirit. It was the fastest way to travel. All immortals can do it. I flew out of the hole and home, entering my bedroom through the bedroom window. I landed on my bed and returned to normal. Then I stuffed my face into my pillow and started crying. The door quietly opened.

"Elsa?" Anna's soft voice said. I sat up.

"Yeah?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. Anna sat on the bed next to me.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked. I took a deep breath. Then I explained it all. Going into the hole, fighting Tempest, and the confrontation with Jack, ending with the words North had told me. When I finished, Anna didn't say anything for a few moments.

"I suppose you think he's gone too." I chuckled weakly. Anna shook her head.

"It's like in the stories. Love trumps everything. Every time. The spell doesn't have a complete hold on Jack. Whenever he sees you, it weakens. And I have the perfect idea of how to free him completely." Anna declared.

"And what's that?" I asked.

"You need to kiss him." Anna said. She said it so solemnly that for a moment I had no idea what to think. Then I sighed.

"How am I supposed to get close enough to kiss him if he's under orders to kill me?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm sure you'll see each other again soon. Then just wait until he's within grabbing distance, grab his arms to make sure he doesn't stab you, and kiss him. Easy as pie!"

"Anna, this isn't a fairy tale. True love's kiss doesn't do anything."

"You just have to believe."

"I don't think this is going to work..."

"Don't worry about it. Trust me, it'll work."
