Jack's POV

Let's help Elsa. Go to the guardians, I suggested to my curse. It happily agreed. Well, at least it wasn't being difficult.

We warped to the guardians' base, and I prepared myself to take control of my body. I wouldn't have much time. There was a huge chance that the guardians would just kill me on sight. Hopefully they wouldn't though.

I was suddenly in the destroyed base. Tooth, North, and Sandy were standing nearby. They were in immortal form. Sandy was sitting on the floor with his head down, Tooth was leaning against the wall looking solemn, and North was pacing. Before I could stop my curse, it made my draw my sword. I quickly took control, trying not to give in to the painful cold. I threw the sword against the far wall.

"J-J-Jack!" North stuttered. Sandy lifted his head and turned to look at me. Tooth didn't even move.

"I'm... good. Please... don't kill me." I gasped. Tooth still didn't move. North looked slightly worried. Sandy just lowered his head again.

"What are you doing here Jack?" North asked.

"I came... to help you. There's only one way to stop the darkness. It... it already possessed Elsa." I said. North nodded his head.

"That does explain a lot..." He said.

"About what?" I asked.

"Elsa tried to kill Tooth when Tooth said there was no hope for you. Then she snapped out of it and ran. We looked everywhere, but we couldn't find her." North explained.

"Well, near as I can tell... Elsa already had some dark in her. She went to the Darklings' hideout and tried to take on Pitch. Unfortunately, something went wrong. She was turned dark." I told him.

"You said you knew a way to stop the darkness. How?" North asked. I quickly drew my sword and tossed it on the ground in front of North. I wasn't taking any chances this time. Without it, I felt weaker. But it was also easier to control my curse.

"Break the sword. That's the only way to destroy the darkness." I explained.

"How do we break it?" North asked, picking up the sword gently.

"I'm not exactly sure. But I remember when the curse was being put on me, I heard something that might help. It goes like this:

The sword of darkness holds the key
To the evil power binding thee.
Light power of the highest order
Must destroy the fragile border.
An immortal life given freely in love
The spirits at last to return above." I recited. North closed his eyes.

"Yes, that is how to end the curse. But it won't be easy. The sword is made of fear. The only way to destroy it is to... is to..." North said, then trailed off. I felt my control slipping. But I forced myself to hold on. I was doing this for Elsa. I would do anything for her. Anything.

"What? Please tell me North. I have to know." I said. North opened his eyes.

"I will tell you. One of the guardians, us, needs to sacrifice ourselves. With pure intentions and no fear, they must stab themselves in the heart with the sword. Then all of the remaining guardians' and all of the darklings' spirits will finally be put to rest. Only Pitch and Manny, the two leaders, will remain here on this world. The rest will be set free." North explained. I paused. That meant that I couldn't do it. I couldn't destroy the sword.

"I'll do it." Tooth said. North looked at her.

"No Tooth. Whoever destroys the sword will be lost forever. Your soul will most likely be destroyed. I'll do it." North said. Suddenly, there was as explosion behind us, and we all flew backwards. The sword levitated into the air and flew over my head. I turned my head to see the cause of the explosion, all the white keeping careful control over my curse.

Elsa stood there, the dark sword in her hand. She looked at it, and then at us.

"It's too late. All of you will join the darkness." Elsa said in a deep voice. My heart sank. If it had been any of the darklings, I would have gladly taken them on. But I couldn't hurt Elsa. Not my Elsa.
