As the door opened revealing Captain America. He looked down at the girl with a concerned look. Alex jumped a little. She proceeded to read the script miss.Homes gave her. "hi i am alex from homes orphanage we are selling sweets for charity " although the money just goes to miss.Homes.
Captin America looked down at her. Then he said in a calm tone " please can you take your sunglasses of so i can see your face". Alex looked up in confusion as she did not know what to do . But despite beaing scared she lifts her sunglasses and reveals her black eye and the red mark left on her cheek. He quickly called for tony. Captain america look at her with sadness in his eyes. "what happened" he asked with sadness in his voice. Alex looked shocked at the question but she also was trying to think of a lie as she couldn't say she was hit by the orphanage worker. "I uh f-fell on the floor." She mumbled. The captain was not convinced.
Alex glanced down at her watch and looked in horror as she released she was 10 minutes late. She started to panic. The corner of her eyes started to fill with water as she thought about what punishment she would get. Her hands started to shake. Captain America looked at her and saw the fear and he went to raise his hand to her cheek to wipe away a tear but alex flinched back. "are u okay!" he said quickly. Alex looked down and mumbled "p-pu-punishment". She started stepping away from the door but before she could run away something stopped her. Natasha stood there as the little girl bumped into her legs.
She looked down at the little girl and could see she was crying. She went to alex eye level and looked in her eyes.
For some reason alex felt safe looking at nat. Nat sent a questioning glance at steve. Nat asked as calmly as she can "what happened are you okay." Alex looked at her with tears still streaming down her cheeks "p-pu-punishment"she cried in fear."what punishment". Nat asks sightly confused.Alex quickly answered forgetting what miss.Homes told her "M-miss.Homes b-b-beat me f-for beaing l-late " Nats face turned to anger and it scared alex. "DONT HURT ME PLEASE!!". Alex screamed through her tears.
Nat grabbed alex pulling her into a hug. "none is going to hurt you i promise "Alex started to calm down but also felt sleepy from all the crying. Nat lifted alex of her feet and held her. As alex leaned against nat she grabbed nats suit. She dident know why she grabbed her suit. Soon after she felt asleep in nats arms resting her head on nats shoulder.
Nat was talking to steve as you move a little and she looks down at alex sleeping on her shoulder.you start to get cold and u shiver a little.
