Chapter 7
Hayes
I get in the car waiting for me at the curb. I had to get out of there before I grabbed her and did all things going through my head that I want to do to her. I had too many close calls today. It took a lot of restraint for me not to kiss her but trust me I will kiss her soon. I dread going back to Michigan I don’t want to leave her for that many days. I’m afraid that she won’t be here when I come back on Friday but all I can do is hope she doesn’t run again.
My week goes by fast as I wrap up my loose ends in Michigan. I hired a moving company to pack my things and drive them down to my new place in Las Vegas. I catch an earlier flight back to Las Vegas landing Thursday night. I couldn’t stay there any longer. I feel like I’m going crazy not being around her for this many days. The limo takes me to my new apartment. It’s in the rich part of town where anybody and everybody has an apartment. My apartment is the whole top floor of the building. I really didn’t need all this money. My father never made sure we had this kind of money when I was growing up. My mom worked two jobs just to make sure we had everything we wanted.
My apartment is empty expect for a bed. I made sure I had one delivered so I would have a place to sleep. The rest of the furniture is supposed to be delivered this weekend while I’m in San Francisco. We could come back on Saturday but I’m going to keep Ryder there until Sunday night. I will get that girl to open up to me. I can tell I make something come out of her. The way her breath changes when I’m around and how she becomes flustered when I’m near. I will make her mine.
…
The next morning I wake up early, I want to get to the office before Ryder does. Little does she know we are going to be leaving earlier than expected. I only booked one room she’s going to have to share with me. I did make sure the room had two bedrooms because I was positive that she would object to sharing a bed with me but one day she will even if she doesn’t know it now.
I’m in the office by 7:00 a.m. Ryder isn’t expected to be in here until eight. I turn on my computer check my emails. I need to try to get as much work done now before Ryder gets here and I can’t think straight any more. The time flies by and I don’t notice it’s eight until I look up and see her walking down the hall. Her whistle is what caught my attention first. She whistles on the way to her desk I think I just feel in love with her a little more. I watch her eyes look up as the redness spreads across her face. I have a smile plastered across my face that won’t go away. I never break eye contact until she gets too embarrassed and looks away moving towards her desk.
“Ryder,” I call out to her. “Can you come into my office please?”
I grab some papers shuffling them around making it look as if I was doing something important even though I wasn’t. She walks into my office wear a simple black dress that stops just above her knees. Her long legs are fitted nicely in black heels and I can’t help but run my eyes up her body. I feel myself harden in my pants. I can’t stand up now as she stands in front of my desk.
“Yes, Mr. North,” She says.
Mr. North hum I don’t think I like it. I feel like I’m my father and I don’t want to be him. I hate him. “Don’t call me that. My name is Hayes that is what you’re to call me.” I know my tone is short but when I think about my father my mood changes. “Our flight is leaving earlier than expected be ready to go by eleven. Now please close the door on your way out I have some phone calls to make.” I don’t even look up at her as she stands there for a minute staring at me before she turns around leaving my office. I hear the door slam before I raise my head again.
