-Katie's P.O.V-
I woke up the next morning to the smell of food. I immediately hopped out of bed and ran down stairs.
"Good morning love." mum said as she fixed my plate of food.
"So what's the plans today." I asked biting into my toast.
"Well the neighbors, Mrs. Clifford, invited us over for dinner tonight so I agreed." She said giving me a weird smile.
"What's with the smile.." I ask giving her a look.
"What smile." She said playing it off.
See my mum thinks she's a teenager sometimes and that just plain out scares me, she's an adult that's why there's that label.
"Sooo Imma go walk around town." I said getting up from the table and setting my plate in the sink and gave mum a kiss on the cheek before running upstairs to get changed
I got to my room and shut my door. I looked in my closet and saw all my clothes there....weird. I grabbed my white with black wording blink-182 tank top, a red flannel, my ripped at one knee black skinny jeans and a pair of red vans. I went to my speaker and hocked up my phone and started to play my pandora station. I changed and went to the bathroom to do my hair and stuff. After I fixed my hair and did my makeup I went and stopped the music and grabbed my phone.
I walked downstairs but noticed voices.
"Ah here she is!" My mum said to a lady and a boy my age.
"Um not for long." I said trying to get out of the awkward situation. And right before I could get out the door mother dearest stopped me.
"Not now Katie we have guests over."
She said stopping me
"Ughhhhhhh fine." I said setting my bag down and sat on one of the single sofas furthest away from the boy, mum said don't talk to strangers so I'm just doing what she said. I looked at my phone and saw a text from my basically sister Taylor. But before I could answer it, guess who interrupted! Mum again.
"Katie, put you're phone up please. it's rude." I put my phone away and rolled my eyes.
"Karen Katie, Katie Karen." said my mum starting up the conversation.
"Hi." I said shyly.
"Hello love, this is my son Michael, he's your age!" She said smiling and pointing to the non-happily looking boy.
"Mum why." he said giving her the look I give my mum. I giggled slightly because it reminded me of myself. he raised an eyebrow at me and I just coughed.
Awkward....
"So um, I'm just gonna go upstairs now since I can't go out. Lovely meeting you guys, so bye." I said quickly hopping up and speed walking upstairs to my room. Once I reached the top I quickly ran into my room shutting the door.
That was so awkward. I plugged my phone back into the speaker and played music. I grabbed my laptop and got into Twitter. I herd sombody knock at my door. Assuming it was mum,
"Go away mum I just wanna be alone."
"Well I don't think boys can be mum's...unless your transgender which I don't even know how that works and I don't think I want to know." I giggled. Michael, he's interesting.
"Well I guess you could come in." I said. He walked in and looked around.
"Nothing much to see really, I haven't put up any of my posters or anything." I said shrugging. I went to change the song, it was Green Day's Welcome to Paradise, but Michael stopped me, what is with people stopping me today.
"I like this song! Do you like Green Day?" He asked getting all excited.
"Yes I do actually." I said nodding while scrolling through Twitter on my laptop.
"I see you like Blink-182." he said pointing to my shirt.
"Yea I love them." I said laughing
"Cool, we should hang out sometime, what school are you going to?" He asked
"I think it's called Northwest Christian College, I think." I said unsure
"No way! I go to that school!" He said getting all excited that made my laugh a little. His face when he got excited, wait no stop Katie.
"Michael! It's time to go home!" I herd his mum yell from the bottom of the stairs.
"So, uh I'll see you tonight, you guys are coming over for dinner I believe." He said plaing it cool
"Yea I'll see you tonight." I said awkwardly.
"Okay well imma go now." he said awkwardly walking out my door.
I ran and jumped on my bed smiling like a idiot.
I really like it here.
