(Thank you @i_steal_lungs on Tik Tok for this idea!)

Dream hasn't been coming out of his room the past few days. He only leaves to get food from the kitchen and to use the bathroom. George figured that he should probably check on Dream because he is starting to get worried.

Dream is laying on his bed wearing his signature lime green hoodie and comfortable sweatpants. His hands are tucked behind his head and his legs lay flat on the covers. He stares at his ceiling, somehow in deep thought without thinking anything at all.

Suddenly there is a knock on Dream's door and George gave him a few seconds before opening it to let him say anything if needed. There was silence so George knew it was okay to enter. Although usually Dream says "Come in!" or "Yes, Georgie?". Maybe he was sleeping and George would have to decide whether to wake him up, lay with him, or leave and come back later. Thankfully he was awake.

"Dream?" George says softly.

Dream looks over to see George close the door gently and walk towards him. Dream knows that George is being considerate of Dream's silent room and would have thought that that was sweet if he hadn't felt the way he did right now. Empty.

"I've noticed that you haven't been yourself lately and I- I don't know what to do. I just know that I want to help and be here for you if you'll allow me too." George stood close to the bed and looked down to Dream.

Dream's eyes didn't leave the ceiling fan (that wasn't even on). He felt vulnerable now that George had noticed he had been different lately. Instead of mumbling something out, he felt it was easier to take a hand from behind his head and motion for George to sit down. Basically saying "I allow you to be here for me".

George sat down, "Dream... are you... okay?" he asked slowly.

Dream sighed, "I just feel different right now. I don't even know why. Well..."

Dream looked to George who was patiently waiting for him to explain himself. George's doe eyes gave Dream a "it's okay, take your time" look. Dream looked back to the ceiling.

"I have been feeling empty... Alone, I guess?"

Dream expected George to butt in and say "You have me, Sapnap, Bad, ect. ect. Why didn't you come to us?". However, he was thankful that George just pursed his lips lightly and nodded his head, continuing to listen to him.

"It's harder than it sounds to reach out about how I've been feeling lately. Especially when I don't even know how I'm feeling myself."

George hummed as he moved one of Dream's pillows next to Dream. He scooted himself closer to Dream on the bed and laid down next to him.

"I mean... maybe I did this to myself... Maybe I just cut myself off from talking to people close to for some reason?" Dream groaned.

"I don't even know what I'm saying!" He felt a bit of anger rush through his chest.

He covered his face and deeply exhaled, releasing his anger into the air. Empty again.

George started to comfort him, "Although I don't understand completely, I do know that your feelings are valid. You are always analyzing things, Dream. I can't even begin to understand how hard it must be for you to not be able to understand and know why you are feeling this way. I hope you can realize that you don't have to make sense of your emotions all the time. And whatever is making you feel this way... it doesn't have to make sense or be clear. Some things take a while to be understood, and that's okay."

Dream started to gain consciousness in his mind again after he hadn't been able to think the past few days. What George said cleared his mind enough to let him grin lightly at George's thoughtful words. He still did feel a bit off though. One talk can't fix everybody's problems all the time.

"Thank you, George. You have no idea how much you've just helped me by saying that and listening and just laying here with me... I'm sorry. I just don't feel anything right now. I feel numb."

They turn their heads to face each other. Their eyes locked together affectionately. Neither of them blushed. Neither of them looked away. For all they know they could have been staring into each others eyes for a whole 24 hours before George decided to sit up. He looked down and back to Dream.

"Dream..."

"Yeah?"

"I have a question."

"Hm?"

George through a leg over Dream's legs and he sat on his thighs. Dream's hands were lifted in the air as he didn't know where to put them. George took his hands in his own and pushed them gently down to the bed, on either side of Dream's head. He leaned down and close to Dream's face. Both their eyes fluttered shut as their lips pressed together for just a few seconds. Dream kissed back until George pulled away.

"Did you feel that?"

Dream felt light tingles through his body and a warmth in his chest.

He smirked, "Hmm, no. You might have to try again."

George chuckled as he aligned his lips with Dream's once again. Dream felt love. Is this what I've been missing this whole time? Did I just need George's touch? Did I really love him more than a friend this whole time and just didn't know how to feel anymore?  Their lips continued to move in sync as Dream escaped from George's grasp. Not that George was trying to pin him down anyway. He held George's waist and pulled him closer. All he wanted was to feel closer. This is what I've been missing.
