George stood there, in front of Clay, in complete shock. His jaw was slightly open, he was silent. His vision was blurred, he had completely zoned out into his thoughts.
How is this possible? There is no way. How is the man from my nightmares sitting in front of me, in my home tone.
He didn't know what to say. What could you say? All he knew is that he needed to know him. He had some many questions, but could Clay really give him the answers he needed? After all it was a figure of his imagination, how was Clay supposed to know how he was in his nightmare? He still wanted to know him, he felt that he had to, he owed it to himself.
He soon snapped out of it, returning back to Earth. "oh..I'm George! Nice to meet you!" Looking at Clay sent a shiver down his spine.
"nice to meet you too" Clay replied. George then apologised, and started to slowly walk away. He then hesitated before turning back around. "Hey. this might come across weird, but I just moved here like 2 months ago, I don't really know anyone, and you was sat on your own and-"
He was rambling, stalling.
"Do you like..want my number? I don't know, be friends or something?" George said, cringing. "I..yeah sure." Clay replied, he didn't really seem like he wanted to, but the situation was already awkward enough for him to say no.
The two exchanged details and then said goodbye. George walked back to the table where Sapnap was seated, looking down on his phone, they left almost immediately.
"Who was that guy you was talking to?" Sapnap asked curiously. Sapnap was George's best friend, but he wasn't quite ready to tell him about his nightmares and how Clay was in them, he was confused enough. He came up with a lame excuse quickly "Oh..i saw him sat on his own, and i need to make some new friends anyway so I gave him my number." George lied. Sapnap giggled "Okay, weirdo"
A few hours passed. Sapnap had gone home, George did the same. It was quite late at night, George wasn't tired. He stayed up until early hours most nights, his sleep schedule was messed up. The nightmares being the main cause of that. He check the time on him phone, it read 10pm. It wasn't as late as he thought, he decided to unlock his phone and go to iMessage. He wrote out a message to Clay, then hesitated before sending it.
George:
Hey!:) Sorry if i came across weird
earlier, I didn't intend to.He made the text pretty basic, apologising for being a weirdo, even though now he thought about it, the text possibly made him look even weirder.
A few moments passed when he heard his phone go off. He rushed to pick it up. It was from Clay.
Clay:
you're alright. I probably
made things pretty awkward myself.
What are you up to?George:
Nothing really, just came off Minecraft.
What about you?Did that make him sound like a child? George was cringing. Even through a screen the conversation was so awkward. The texts were pretty dry, that didn't help.
Clay:
You play Minecraft?George:
Yeah! I also have a Youtube channel
pretty much based around it, I do the
odd stream too!Clay:
That's awesome! I have a
Youtube channel too! I stream a
bit occasionally! What's your
channel's name? They spoke for what seemed like hours. Turns out they had a lot in common. They exchanged Youtube channels, and spoke about potentially streaming together, maybe even some videos.

A few months passed. George and Dream, Clay had said he preferred to be called his Minecraft name so that's what George called him, had been texting, calling and streaming together for the past couple months. Dream even introduced him to his online friends who too played Minecraft, had channels and streamed, George did the same with his friends.
It was around 11pm in Florida, George was sat in bed, scrolling through twitter. His phone started to ring. It was Dream.
He quickly picked up "Hey Dream!"
"Hey George!" Dream replied enthusiastically.
"So why are you calling?" George asked him. "What can I not just want to talk with you?" He replied in a flirty tone.
George and Dream had a pretty flirtatious friendship, all joking of course, at least that's what George told himself most of the time.
George felt his face burning up. Was he blushing? What no, why would he be blushing? It's just Dream. George opened his mouth to reply but no words came out. What was happening? This is his best friend. He stuttered some words but they didn't form a sentence.
"Flustered?" Dream said jokingly, letting out a small wheeze, he knew how to wind up George.
"What no I'm not." George bursted out. He was totally blushing.
"Are you blushing? aww" Dream cooed. "Shut up." George replied in a joking tone, letting out a little giggle, that almost seemed forced.
He placed his phone down and got out of his bed, walking to the bathroom. He looked in the mirror, he was red. "Cut it out George." He said to himself, splashing cold water onto his face. He heard his phone go off again, he rushed to his room to pick it up, expecting a message from Dream. It was just an Instagram notification.
George noticed himself getting like this around Dream fairly often, in fact almost every time he speaks with him. He isn't sure why. Dream was supposed to be his best friend, why is he acting like this around him?
Then he saw a message pop up on his phone, this time it was a notification from Dream. They started talking about how they should meet up. George desperately wanted to meet up with Dream, they hadn't met up since he saw him in the cafe when they met, despite living so close. However, anytime they mentioned meeting George got a weird feeling in his stomach, he couldn't tell whether it was good or bad.
What was he thinking? This is Dream. His best friend. There is no way he could have feelings for him..
He quickly brushed off the thought about that. He tried to distract himself from thinking about it. He took out his phone, plugged in his headphones, and played some music, drifting off to sleep.
