I moaned a little before opening my eyes, and seeing a dirty room. It was burnt, and looked really run down. There was a small little window that was letting through minimal light. I tried moving my body so I'd be laying on my stomach. I pushed with my arms, and felt fine. I stood up, and stretched. My bones started to crack, and I cracked my back. A paper flew by my foot, and I realized it was an old newspaper. It was almost all black, and was torn all over. I looked at the paper, and studied it hard trying to find out any information I could. The print on the paper looked more like symbols to me then words. I looked at it, and squinted really hard. The words were Russian, and I had a gut feeling something was wrong. I picked the paper up, and dropped it once I found out there was a spider on it. There was a door, but it looked all torn up. I didn't really want to go through the door. I didn't know what was on the other side. I walked up the the old door, and placed my hand on the knob. I started to turn, and it felt loose. Just then the knob fell off of the door. I pushed the door open, and seen that I was in a restaurant. I walked behind the counter, and seen a little kids backpack on the floor. I hope that the little girl made it out, and didn't need that backpack, because I took it. Under the counter there was canned food. I took some of the food, and stuffed it in the rickety book bag. I put the backpack on, and walked out of the restaurant. I turned around, and saw that I was on a long road, and I can see the city it led into, and it wasn't that far. I haven't seen anyone yet, and if there are people they are most-likely in the city hiding out. I believed I was in an apocalypse, and I would have to fend for myself. I started walking toward the city, when I passed a man that was face-down on the dirty black pavement. I knelt down beside the middle-aged man, and turned him on his back. He had blood all over his face, and I couldn't see anything else of interest. I was about to stand up when I saw a rifle. It was tempting to take it, so I knelt back down beside the man, and started to pull on the rifle. I believed he was dead, and there was no saving him. I pulled the rifle, and it wouldn't move. I tugged once more, and the gun became loose. I knew how to work the rifle, and I knew how to shoot it. I had a gut feeling it would come in handy. I started to take off his orange jacket, and I seen that he was wearing a gray shirt under it. I seen more blood, so I unzipped the jacket. I seen a big whole, and his organs were out of his body. I jumped back at the sight of it. I was in shock that I have seen a dead man that I didn't know. I took the jacket, and went through his deep pockets. I found a pocket picture with two adults in the picture. One was the dead man that lay gracefully In front of me. The other person in the picture was a woman about the same age, and she was beautiful. On the bottom the words: "Never Ending Love" were shown. They looked so happy together, and I know it was before "this" all happened. I took the old pocket picture, and laid it on his chest. The picture was imprinted in my mind, and I thought how bad she must be feeling if she is alive. I went through the rest of his jacket, and only found bullets. The road called my name, and I started to walk towards the city. there was a gas station that looked like it would be really good for supplies......................
