Darkness Awaits!

Strike!

I immediately aimed my gun at his head!
"It's not what it looks like! I was just protecting myself!" He staggered.
"It's okay I'm friendly. I am trying to-to" I said realizing what I was actually trying to do "I am trying to kill these men" I said making my jaw hard afterwards. he nodded at me, and started to tell me all about this compound.
"They have a weapon cache, that we might want to hit before we make our assault." he suggested. I nodded in agreement. He got a piece of paper, and a pencil and started planning everything out. Just then I turned to hear footsteps. I pointed my gun at the door out of habit. The door swung open, and my finger pushed down. I heard a little click, and I realized I was out of ammunition. A middle aged woman stood at the doorstep, and looked at me in terror. I studied her face for a moment, and then I fell into terror. I realized she was the woman from the photo! I started crying, and her face grew to look puzzled. I pulled out the pocket picture, and dropped it on the floor. She picked it up, as her face got puffy, and red. I walked over, to immediately comfort her. She looked up at me.
"Where is he" she barely made it out. I shook my head, and she got my notion meant that he is dead. She closed her eyes, and laid her head on my shoulder, and cried until she fell asleep.
I picked her up off of me, as the bright morning sun beat my eyes up. Her warm body, was limp until I moved her. She opened her eyes blinking several times before doing so. I hugged her, and she hugged back. "I want to see his body, and bury it." She said, as she moved her head closer to my face.
"Ok, we will leave at dusk." She inched closer, and kissed my lips, and then stood up. She walked out of the room, and sat at a small metal folding-table. They definitely had gear to last. I gained my balance, and walked into the kitchen. The builder hat guy, was making her some food on a wooden stove. My heart started beating, because I was just kissed by this lovely girl. She looked over at me, and winked...............
