(Not my art) Summary: Jason tries to teach Thalia to fly. ⚠️ There's like 1 swear word ⚠️ _________________________________ 3rd POV
Thalia regretted taking the Hunters to camp. She thought it would be nice for them to take a break from monster hunting. She could see her friends and brother again. The Hunters could also have fun demolishing the campers at capture the flag.
Thalia didn't want to learn how to fly. Yes, it was cool, but useful? Not with Thalia's fear of heights. But Jason had insisted.
Thalia didn't even know if she could control the winds. Jason had a knack for that, but lightning was more Thalia's gig.
"Alright, just close your eyes. Think really hard on the air around you. You command it, not the other way around."
"I know that, Jason," Thalia nearly growled.
This had been going on for about an hour now. Thalia was tired and frustrated; not that she would admit that. A crowd had even gathered after the first half hour.
"Just chuck her off the climbing wall!" Leo called. "You flew by falling off the Grand Canyon!"
Thalia resisted the urge to throw a javelin in their direction, but she couldn't stop the electricity that sparked on her fingertips.
Thalia closed her eyes and thought hard on her goal. I control the winds, she thought. I control the winds.
She felt the air slowly start to blow around her. Surprised, she opened her eyes, and screamed at what she saw.
Cheers blew up from the stands and the Hunters sprinted in victory to their lieutenant.
Thalia was flying! Well, it was more like hovering, and she was only about 3 feet off the ground, but she was flying.
"Haha, fuckers!" Thalia shouted. "I told you I could do it!" Thalia did not tell them she could do it, but no one mentioned that little fact.
Thalia dropped to the ground, landing on her feet. Her fellow hunters surrounded her, cheering. They lifted Thalia up onto their shoulders and marched her out of the arena. The rest of the crowd followed them, giving cheers of their own.
No one payed notice to Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, who were slowly making their way over to Jason Grace.
"Are you gonna tell her," Annabeth smirked to Jason.
"Nah, let her think it was her," Jason smiled.
Percy laughed and fist bumped Jason with his free hand; the other was resting over Annabeth's shoulders.
The three observed Thalia and the cheering crowd with amusement.
No one had to know that Jason was the one who lifted his sister off of the ground. _________________________________
