Hazelnut

I have no idea how my plan backfired, but it did. This is how it happened:

I threw the bat at the person, but I missed. You must be thinking, 'Big deal. You missed the robber. WHO CARES! RUN BEFORE YOU DIE!!!!' Yeah....no. After that, it bounced off the wall and hit me in the head. Which made be fall backwards to the ground. That had to be karma.

"Uh...are you okay...?" I sat up to see a girl. That girl was Karma. "Wow....that's not what not what I meant." I said standing up. She stared at me confused then shrugged it off. "What happened?"

"My quirk. It's lucky. Pretty simple." She explained, leaning against the conner. "Sooooo, why did I get hit?" I asked rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeah, that's the not so simple part. You see, how my quirk works is my luck runs off of other people's karma. You know what I mean?" I nodded. That made sense. It also would explain why her name is Karma. But I wasn't gonna say that out loud.

"So, what are you doing up?" I asked. "Oh, well....you know.....I-uh-...." She finally took a deep breath and stated, "Insomnia." Then she said something that made me know we were gonna be friends forever. "So, I did the reasonable thing that any smart human being would do. I went to get coffee." I looked her dead in the eye and said, "Same. Pour me a cup." which made her smile.

"Alright, which creamer do you want?" She asked opening the fridge, but still looking at me. I stared at her. "C-creamer?" I wish I hadn't said that. At lest not like that. She looked like she wanted to murder me. She turned to the fridge and pulled out a tall bottle of...yeah I don't know. She opened a cabinet and pulled two cups. Then opened another one grabbing a big jar. She took the coffee she made ahead of time and poured it into the two cups. She took a small cup to put the stuff in the big jar-which I am going to assume is sugar-into the cups followed by the liquid in the large bottle. She handed me a cup. I looked down at it and gently blew on it as she did the same. I then took a small sweet sip....

....followed by me drinking the whole thing not caring how much my throat was on fire. "Amazing...." She smiled softly taking a small sip of her own drink. "Hazelnut."
