My dearest readers,

If you think that dancing around at the opening ball would be your only chance with securing a match, then you're dreadfully wrong. Families camp their sites by nature in admiration of everything around them and the time they spend together.

However, in the eyes of a gentleman they'd rather pay attention to the eligible ladies who promenades around the park more often in hopes of securing a match and as far as this author knows, Miss Penelope Featherington has yet to succeed in the aforementioned aspect. Is it possible that something or rather someone is being a hindrance to her pairing?

At the Bridgerton picnic site:

"I swear Penelope once we unmask Lady Whistledown, she'll regret writting against you" Eloise says walking arm in arm with Penelope.

"It's rather fine Eloise. Lady Whistledown did the same thing to Daphne I bet she's just waiting for me to trip by my own feet" Penelope said

"And wait for you to get swifted off the market? I don't think so." Eloise rebuttals as they notice the group of men eyeing Isla from her site.

"Now that's diamond of the first water. She's effortlessly beautiful" Penelope admires Isla

"Quit comparing yourself Pen. But I agree. Isla is rather a magnet for these simpletons."

"Simpletons?"

"Pen. Look at her." Both of them observes Isla as she read from her book flipping the pages ever so lightly as her eyes trace the words on her book while involuntarily smiling softly.

"Is it how she makes reading a book look divine?"

"No Pen it's how she's reading the book out here in public. Now that's a bold woman."

"And still men would swarm for her"

"Exactly. She doesn't even promenade for suitors Clearly she cares less for this dreadful social season"

"Lady Clairemont must trust Isla and her upbring so well. Even Lady Whistledown praises their household."

"I' love to have Lady Clairemont chaperone me if that's the case."

"Lady Clairemont was from a family of University professors of course she'd allow Isla to read"

"I'm sure it's-- wait!" Eloise grabs Penelope's shoulders

"What's the matter Eloise?"

Eloise whispers "My theory is that Lady Clairemont is Lady Whistledown"

"Elose that's rather ridiculous" Penelope whispers back

"Pen think about it. Fosters reading? University influenced family? Their house getting a landslide of praise since Isla's appearance?"

"Not to mention her every attendance in the balls last season?" Penelope added

"My thoughts precisely. I do believe we agree on the lead?"

"Certainly. But how are we to find out more?" Penelope asks looking at the Clairemont's

"By becoming friends with her rare jewel."
