Karen just said that it was fine and let us be for the rest of the time she was eating. It was now currently 11am and the restaurant was clearing out. I was telling Ellie and Dustin about the whole Karen situation, they were both laughing because they thought it was funny. We heard chatter from the front door and those voices sounded very very similar. Like dangerously similar. I decided to ignore it and then five minutes later

Ellie: Lea you're up
Dustin: is that your parents?
Alisha: don't mess with me like that
Ellie: no he isn't joking, look
I turned around and they weren't lying
Alisha: why they hell are they here!?
Dustin: go go, this is gonna be interesting
Ellie: go on Lea
Alisha: I hate you both
Dustin: you love us bitch

I flipped them both off and walked towards my parents table. The closer i got the more I wanted to just run away. Then I realised they were talking to someone. When I got to their table, it fucking hit me. Both of my parents were talking to nick, my boyfriend

Alisha: hey
Nick: oh hi!
Mum: hey Alisha
Dad: hey hunny, you didn't tell us your boyfriend was such a nice man
Alisha: heh. Umm do you guys know what you wanna order?
The three of them ordered their food and I gave in the order before returning back to Ellie and Dustin who were laughing their asses off
Alisha: I'm gonna strangle the two of you

I looked back at the door and saw clay and George walk in. I face palmed as they saw me and walked over happily

Clay: hi Lea!
George: hi!
Alisha: do you two want a couples booth?
Clay: no, what the hell
Ellie: who are they?
Alisha: oh Ellie and Dustin, clay and George
Dustin: nice to meet you
George: you two
Ellie: I'm gonna go uh get a glass of water
Alisha: oh ok

I looked at Dustin and then clay and the George. Then my mouth dropped

Dustin: bish what

I whispered into his ear "Ellie likes George". Dustin basically screamed in shock but then tonight about it and agreed with me. George and clay were super confused and I motioned my head for them to take a seat

Alisha: what can I get you?
George: I want ice cream
Clay: caramel milkshake please
Alisha: would you like two straws in your milkshake?
George: I'm going to throw you off a cliff
Alisha: can't kill me if I'm already dead
Clay: don't question our abilities

I smiled and went to the kitchen, telling the chefs what the lovebirds wanted. Ellie came back out and was as red as a tomato. She took a seat next to me and Dustin and I just looked at each other and smiled

Alisha: sooo Ellie
Ellie: y-yeah?
Alisha: like anyone?
Ellie: n-no
Dustin: you're the worst liar
Ellie: I don't like anyone though!
Alisha: your face is redder then a tomato
Ellie: you guys are annoying
Dustin: I can already see the wedding
Ellie: shut up!
Alisha: you like George don't you?
Ellie: uhhh nooooo....yeahhh
Alisha: he is 22 and you're 21 so it's perfect
Dustin: wait so she is legally allowed to drink
Alisha: but do you think she wanted to get drinks for a Karen? Exactly

More customers came through and the two of them went to do their jobs. I looked over at the time 11:23m. 37 minutes. Nick and my parents food was ready so I took it over to their table. Once all the food was placed down I went to turn around to go back to the counter until my parents insisted I stayed and talked. Nick scooted over and I took a seat next to him

Mum: how has it been living with them?
Alisha: great
Dad: you're a good guy Nick
Nick: thank you

I looked down at the table and smiled. Did my parents like him?
Alisha: how did you guys uh meet?
Mum: we saw him walking into the diner and you had showed us a photo of him so we asked him if he knew you and then we introduced ourselves

Dad: I see your fear of spiders hasn't gone away
Alisha: you told them about that?
Nick: yeah
Mum: you've been terrified of spiders since you were a baby Lea
Alisha: yeah I know
Dad: I see some things don't change

He pointed down to my nails which were non existent because of how much I bite them

Alisha: uh I gotta go do my job

I left the table in a hurry and went to clean up the tables that were just used. After I finished cleaning them up, I looked over at the clock 11:57am. Fuck. I walked around to the back, to see Dustin, Ellie and Maddie. They all looked up to look at me and I burst out into tears. I was soon pulled into a huge group hug. Me still sobbing while I heard sniffles from the three. When we all pulled away, I was told to take a seat while they walked somewhere else. They came back holding a huge basket full of goodies

Alisha: you guys
Dustin: you better come and visit us once a week
Alisha: I will don't you worry
Ellie: I'm gonna miss bitching about customers with you
Dustin: I'm gonna miss looking at cute boys with you
Maddie: I'm gonna miss having the best conversations with you
Alisha: I'm gonna miss you all so much, but we still talk on the groupchat everyday so we need to plan something
Maddie: yes, now give me another hug

I smiled and gave Maddie another hug. Then I went around and gave Dustin and Ellie one on one hugs as well. These three people were like my second family. I wiped the remaining tears off my face and took the basket of goodies out of the back room and towards the front of the diner. I said my goodbyes to the chefs and looked over at he counter to see one of my favourite customers, Vicky, having a cup of tea

Vicky: hey Alisha
Alisha: hey Vicky, how are you?
Vicky: I'm good, I heard it was your last day so I have a little gift for you
Alisha: oh?

I saw her grab her purse and pull out a $100 note

Vicky: here you go
Alisha: Vicky, this is too much. I can't take this
Vicky: please do Alisha. You were a great worker here

I smiled and took the $100 note and said bye to her. When I looked at the table nick and my parents were at. He was just sitting by himself. My parents probably left, so did George and clay, they were no where to be seen. Nick looked up from his phone and saw me waiting next to him

Nick: you ready to go?
Alisha: y-yeah

He got out of his seat and held my hand. He lead me out of the diner and I looked at it one last time before we drove away. I was super quiet on the way home and I know Nick could notice that, so he turned on the radio. He started quietly humming to the songs being played
