Hello, I'm Brooke Moormier and I am 16 years old. My brother Payton is 17. Our parents and little sister Maya died almost a year ago. Now, Payton and I live with our Aunt Savannah and little couisn Everleigh. Payton and I try to help around the house as much as often because savannah is a single mom to Everleigh and took us in so she is basically a 23 year old single mom with 3 kids. Payton has this friend, his bestfriend actually is so annoying. How? You may ask well, he likes me and is constantly flirting with me. He knows I dont like him back but he does it anyway. Also I am homeschooled. I kinda dropped all my friends after my parents died. Even my boyfriend, Andrew. I became depressed and developed social-anxiety. I hate people. Couldn't say it any better because it's true I just don't like people. The only people I ever talk to are my aunt, Payton, and some of Payton friends. Lets talk about my life before i dropped everyone. Well, I had a boyfriend and 2 amazing bestfriends, Natalie and Ella. They would do everything with me. When my parents died they tried so hard to get me too come out of my room. That was before i dropped them. I know it is rude to just drop your friends without warning, but i was so mentally drained I couldnt keep up with more than one friendship. And that friend ship was goign to be with my brother. We were so so close and I didnt want to lose that bond i had with my brother. So, thats what i did. The past year I didnt do much, mostly stay home and watch TV when i was alone and when i was with payton we would play video and board games. So, that brings us up to now, Saturday, 11:47 am. I am laying in my bed watching criminal minds.
"BROOKE" Payton yells from downstairs in the living room.
"WHAT?!" I yell back to my older brother, slight annoyance in my voice because i was in the middle of my favorite episode of criminal minds. Yes i have watched criminal minds more than once. 4 times to be exact.
"NEVERMIND" he probably heard the annoyance in my voice and didnt want to make me upset. But that bothered me when someone would just say nevermind when they already intrupted me, like you already intrupted me just tell me now. But i just ignored it and unpaused my show.
...
After finishing that episode i was hungry so i went downstairs. When i was walking down the stairs i was singing the opening song to the lion king, thinking it was just me and payton home, my aunt being at work. Thats when i saw it. 3 teenage boys sitting in my living room watching me. Did i mention I was also only wearing a sports bra and bootie shorts. Yea, that was hella embarrasing.
"Payton!" i scream running back up the stairs hearing my brother burst out laughing. When i got to my room i quickly put on a pair of leggings and a hoodie the making my way back downstairs because i still hadnt gotten my food. Payton laughed again as I walked into the kitchen. ...
"hey Jaden and whoever else you are" I said as I plopped down on the couch putting my legs in paytons lap, because i had already gotten my food.
Payton: "oh, B this is Josh and Bryce, and guys this is my Sister Brook"
"She's kinda cute" bryce whispers to jaden, and boys don't know how to whisper.
"i know" jaden whispers back.
"boys dont know how to whisper" I said as I got up and start walking twords the door grabbing my keys.
"where are you going?" Payton asks as he turns to look at me.
Brook: "Well, your birthdays next week, so im going shopping for your presents! and to get some things Sav asked me to pick up" I say while putting on my shoes.
"can I go with you" jaden asks looking at me.
"If you promise not to flirt with me then, yeah" i say looking back at the group of boys.
"no promises" he says as he jumps up from the couch, now putting his shoes on.
"then your not coming" i say as i walk out the door and get in my car, leaving him behind.
...
"I'M BACK" I yell as i walk in the front door. There was no response and I didnt see anyone but I heard yelling from upstairs. I walk up the stairs and walk into paytons room to see the 4 of them playing video games.
"im back, and im ordering chick-fil-a do you guys want any?" i ask, still no response they dont even know im here. So i do the nice thing to do and unplug the TV. Of course being sarcastic when i say nice.
"I was about to win!" payton yells looing at me.
"It was the only way to get your attention, now what do you want from chick-fil-a" I ask just tiding up his room a little because his room is a huge mess. They all tell me what they want and I order it.
...
We are all sitting in the living room talking while waiting for the food to get here when i go upstairs to the bathroom and realize im out of tampons. I go back down stairs
"I need to go to the store again, need anything?" I ask putting my shoes on.
"Im going with you this time" he says getting up from his seat on the couch.
"fine, but dont think I will hesitate to leave you there with no ride back if you flirt" I say seriously. The 4 of them laugh then stop when they realize I'm being serious.
"Your serious?" he asks looking at me.
"im so serious" i say walking out the door. Jaden quickly follows me sitting in the pasenger seat.
"You know I could've driven right?" He says looking at me.
"I've seen you drive and there is no way im letting you drive my car" I say and reverse out of the driveway.
A/N: Hey guys I'm so exited to be sharing this book with you. I will probably only update once or twice a week because I am pretty busy and I have a TikTok (jxdn...storiesss)i post stories on that is my top priority for now. Anyways, thankyou for reading and please let me know if you have any ideas for my stories or feedback on my stories because I want to improve my writing.
Update: my TikTok was banned BUT I have a new one it's @stories.by.me.69 as I'm going to try to write a few books without tiktokers and social media in the future
