Six - Escape

As we followed Stevie out of my cell I could hear him talking into an earpiece. "Yeh we got her, but there's a complication." He paused probably listening to whatever the other person was saying. "No! Listen she's pregnant. She can't fly we have to get her out of here on the ground." 

I looked at Jamesie who appeared to be listing to his earpiece as well. Steve was getting mad so James spoke with one hand to his ear. "We'll take a jeep and drive to the closest hospital you guys follow in the jet. Alright?" he had a 'don't mess with me' tone that reminded me of dad. Creepy.

We walked on in silence until we rounded a corner and came face to face with 10 armed HYDRA agents. J told me to wait around the corner while they dealt with the agents. After listening to the fight for a good couple of minutes, some of the agents were down but the others were shooting at the boys who were both somehow huddled behind caps shield. 

"Did you want help or you got this?" I shouted at them. "We got this. Just sit tight were almost done." Stevie yelled back right as a small explosion happened in between us. "Sure" I muttered. I put my hands up and around the corner I could hear the guards stop firing. 

I used the vines to tie them all up then just for good measure I put them all in a ring of fire. It wasn't easy either I let my arms flop down beside me exhausted. The boys came running over, I smiled. "I know, I know you had it covered," I said sarcastically making them both chuckle lightly. 

"Your right, thanks Jaz," James said. I just nodded and tried to stand but my legs buckled under the weight. Stevie caught me before I hit the ground. I rested my head on his shoulder as he carried me through the facility to the garage.

We only ran into a couple more pairs of guards and James knocked them out before they even had time to aim at us. Once there the Stevie put me into one of the jeeps and jumped in the front while my brother opened the doors. 

The super soldier started the car and my brother jumped in next to him as we passed through the doors. We were speeding off leaving the horrible place behind I finally relaxed. With the boys up front bickering, I stretched out across the back seat and drifted off. It was almost like old times again.

I woke up in a small white hospital room with a bunch of people around. They were all sitting on the ground leaning on the walls or each other asleep, except my big brother who was sitting on a chair next to my bed with his head resting on the side. Looking around I recognized them as the Avengers from the files I'd seen at HYDRA. 

I let out a soft giggle when I noticed Steve leaning his head back against the wall fast asleep with a woman, who I presumed to be the black widow resting her head on his lap looking peaceful. His hand on the side of her head. 

"Your awake." I jumped slightly I hadn't noticed anyone else was awake. I looked over to the somewhat familiar voice and smiled. It was Tony. "Yeh, sorry if I woke you." He stood up shaking his head and came over to sit on my other side as not to disturb my brother. "Nah I was awake anyway. Trouble sleeping you know." I nodded. 

"You remember me don't you?" I asked he nodded with a smirk. "Oh yes, the girl whose family were all gone. She had a happy childhood with her family than something 'big' happened" he made quotation marks in the air when he said big. "And her brother was tragically lost just a couple of months after his best friend died. But plot twists her brothers alive and the others are now all gone." He chuckled and I smiled sheepishly. 

"Technically I wasn't lying." I defended, "Just not telling the whole truth." He gave an exaggerated sigh of relief. "Good I thought you forgot what World War two was." He jocked, this was nice just chatting to Tony. The feelings I had on our date were coming back. That's when the first pain came. 

"Ahhhh!" I screamed waking up the whole room. Tony looked concerned but stepped back for Steve to come forwards. James was already fussing over me asking what was wrong. "It hurts!" I hissed through clenched teeth. 

"I'll go get the doctor." One of the guys said running out of the room. "Barton do you know what's happening? You've got three kids you've done this before." Steve asked looking frantic. "I think she might be going into labor?" The guy answered but it was more of a question. "And cap you should be able to recognize this better than me, yours is younger." He smirked, Steve went light red and I was confused. 

"What does he mean?" I asked the pain now gone. "He means," my brother said smirking "that our little Stevie went and had a baby like 3 months ago. He has a little boy born in March." I gasped. "I'm an aunt and your only telling me now?" I glared at Steve and he shifted uncomfortably. "We will be having words later," I said still glaring at him when another wave of pain hit me. 

"Dam" I grunted squeezing my brother's hand. "Where's the doctor?" I hissed to the room. The door was flung open a moment later. "I'm right here Miss. Barnes." The doctor whose name I couldn't remember said coming over to me. 

"I need everyone out please." He said addressing the room. Then turned back to me. "Is there anyone you want to stay?" Everyone started walking out the door except for James. "Wait!" I yelled and everyone stopped. 

"Jamesie I want you to go wait outside you don't need to see this." He started to protest but I stopped him. "No, go. Now." I ordered and he obeyed moving to the door with the others. "And could um...Tony stay?" I asked quietly. He looked confused and I continued, "only if you want to."

He smiled and nodded coming over to stand to the left of me. Everyone else looked confused but walked out of the room all the same. The doctor did a quick examination and looked slightly concerned. "Has anything irregular happened recently that would cause you to be stressed?" He questioned and I wasn't sure how to answer. 

I looked at Tony who was still a bit confused as to why he was even here. "Well yeh, some stuff happened. Is that why I'm two weeks early?" The doctor nodded and continued examining me. "Your about three centimeters dilated so we need to wait till your around seven." He said walking to the door, "I'll be back soon."
