She said she wanted to see the world
So she could accept it as it really is
But ignorance is bliss
And the world is a terrible place
No one knows what the everyone goes through
The person you walked by on the street yesterday
Could be going through so much in their life
But is it better just not to know?
After all, ignorance is bliss
They say it's good to keep up with current events
But then they say the news is all bad
You see it in the newspapers
In magazines and on TV
Murder, war, kidnapping, tragedy
Maybe it is not so great, keeping up with the times
I think that's why they say ignorance is bliss
All of these people pass
They don't know what goes on in my head
What I go through in life
They smile and nod
They don't ask what's wrong
Because they're all taught
That ignorance is bliss
