24. What to do

Vinnie was doing better way better he started to go out on his own eat on his own shower on his own it almost felt like he didn't need me anymore

And that scared me

Don't get me wrong I'm over joyed that he's better but we never discussed what we were officially so for all I know he could be seeing other girls which killed me if I'm being honest

"D?" I looked up and tune back into the conversation as Luke stopped playing with my hair "what's wrong" I sighed how did he always know "it's nothing" it's not exactly cool to talk about getting back with your ex with you're most recent ex

"No tell me what's going on in that confusing head of yours" he persisted and I groaned he was gonna get it out of me eventually "it's Vinnie" I breathed and out he sighed "what did that little shit so because I'll-" "Luke he didn't do anything" "not that I know of at least" he shakes his head

"Odessa I don't think it's smart to get attached remember what hell he caused you last time" I nodded I was a fucking train wreak I nodded and got up "that song you wrote when you two first broke up" Luke picked up acoustic guitar

"Maybe you can figure this out with a new song?" I nodded music did always help me figure out my feelings "why can't you just tell me what to do about him!" He rolls his eyes at my response before his eyes widened "what to do that's it you don't know what to do so sing it!"

He starts fiddling with his guitar

It had been a couple days and Luke and I had finished the song it was finally time to perform it this was my way of telling Vinnie it was time for him to be honest he had to tell me what we were going to do next I was tried of putting in all the work

So I told Regan she set up a party and everyone came including Vinnie just as I arrived she stepped on the stage "so as many of you know I have a surprise for you tonight" everyone cheered and she looked into the crowd "some maybe love it and others" she stares Vinnie dead in the eyes "may hate it"

She then locks eyes with me "introducing my cousin with her new song" all eyes were on me as I strolled onto the stage and I took the mic from her "so I wrote this song a couple days ago with Luke" I fiddled with the guitar "I was trying to make a decision about something and I didn't know what to do" I paused and locked eyes with Vinnie

"So without further a do this is what to do"

The look on Vinnie's face when the song was over was priceless and as everyone clapped I got down from the stage "Can we talk?" He nods and we go up to one of Regan's guest rooms

"What was that about" I scoff he seemed irritated well good because I was angry as well "exactly what it said" I crossed my arms and walked over to the mini bar I was so happy Regan kept these in everyone guest room 

"Stop being cryptic and tell me what you want" he snaps grabbing my hand so I face him "what I want!" I roll my eyes "what I want!" I pushed his hand away becoming angrier "What the fuck do you want!" I push his chest now

"What are you talking about-" I cut him off by sucking my teeth "I gave up weeks of my life to stay with you!" I walked over and place a finger on his chest poking him with my nail

"to take care of you!" I poked harder

"To help you get better!" I poked even harder

"I don't regret it Vinnie I'm happy you're happy but" I turned away and placed my head in my hands I was trying so hard not to cry "I need to know where we stand" he walked over and his hands snaked around my waist for once I was letting him take care of me

And I didn't mind being held he turns me around and pulls me into a hug "Listen Odessa I let you go once and it was hell on earth" his hand caressed my cheek as he continued "I never wanna make that mistake again so I just assumed you were my girl again"

My girl I liked the ring of that

"But if it's not clear enough D will you be mine?" He whispers against my lips I just nodded and kissed him
