The text read: You're pretty good with that gun of yours and it'll be a shame if that talent of yours goes to waste... Meet at the entry to the underground piping system, just behind your "girlfriends" place and bring both guns, you may need them... Don't even ask how I contacted you or how I know how good you are, you'll get nothing out of me...
I'll see you there!
I looked at the text for a while, staring blankly at the screen, and just before I could text back, an unknown number called..."Hello?" I said cautiously. I really didn't want to hear a reply, my 12 year old brain couldn't handle any more strange things going on.
"Uh... H-hi? Is this the Gun-God?" The mysterious voice replied. It sounded like the voice of a girl, shy and quiet, who sounded like she was about my age, maybe a year or so younger. She seemed shy at most, but you could hear a streak of caution in her voice, like she was hiding and contacting for help.
"The Gun-God? I think you have the wrong person... I'll google him for you and get into contact though, what's up?" I asked. The name 'Gun- God' sounded cool and all, but could she really be talking about me? I was just a regular kid, doing regular things with not so regular people... Could I already be this well known? Impossible! No-one could have possibly known about me killing that wall-guy... Could they? Was he some sort of agent, sent to find my true identity? What if they sent out someone to follow everyone in town and drive them nuts until one of them finally shot... What if they where monitoring that wall-guy's every move? He wanted me to kill him as his final job for the company, maybe he was found by the enemy and could no longer live? What have I got myself into? Have I broke the law by killing him, or am I a hero in the governments eyes? Did I save or did I kill? Who was that person and what did they want with me? Why do I need both my guns when one is enough? Do they want me dead or alive? Will they Imprison me or give me a job? All these thoughts bounced around my head as I tied to figure out how much crap I had gotten myself into. As I was staring at the blood-trailed wall that hid the wall-guy, a familiar voice brought me back to reality.
"I'm trapped and I need to get rid of the person outside to escape... Please tell him to come quickly, I may die here!" She said quietly over the phone, her voice trembled slightly and her breathing got heavier "Please hurry..." She sobbed. The tears must have hit the phone because the only thing I could hear was the 'Pat, Pat, Pat' of something light hitting something on the other side of the line, after a minute of continuous 'Pat, Pat, Pat' on the phone, the girl on the other side started to cry, uncontrollably sob until she ended up fading to silent... The silence scared me even more than the call itself! About 10 mins of silence, sobbing, mysterious texts and gun violence, I thought that this was all too much for me. I threw the gun down, calling it a curse and as I did I got another text from the same number as before: Help the girl, than come and see me at the designated place, I've arranged a driver to pick you up from your current destination s
To drop you off at the vantage point you need to be to kill the criminal. Once that's done, go back into the car and come to me... There's a silencer on the kitchen bench. If you haven't noticed it yet, pick it up and put it on your gun, it WILL help...
Remember to bring both guns, Gun-God!
The text sent shivers down my spine... How do they know my location? Have they traced my phone? Where is this 'vantage point' they talked about? Am I really the 'Gun-God' everyone's on about?
Just before I could ask anymore questions, the doorbell rang making me fall over in shock. 'Knock knock knock' I heard just before a muffled and deep voice called out."Your driver's here, you've been briefed? If you have than come out, I'll drive you to the destination." It said, quietly but still loud enough to be heard inside clearly.
Without thinking, I grabbed both guns and put the silencer that was on the kitchen bench on the sniper. I loaded both guns and pointed it at the door, replying to the voice with a quick and sharp
"It's open!"
As he opened the door, I looked down the scope to find someone who looked less threatening and more comforting than anything. His voice trembled as he spoke.
"Have mercy God, please don't shoot me! I'm a good guy, I promise! I only wish to help!" He said with voice trembling. It looked like he was about to burst into tears but I put down the gun and stepped outside before he could. "Right this way sir!" He said willingly. As I walked towards the car, he rushed passed me and opened the back door for me, I entered and he took me straight to the destination. No radio, no CD's, not even any talking was heard whilst we drove. Swerving in and out of traffic, it felt like I was in a race car instead of a 4x4! Once we reached the "Vantage Point," the driver pointed at a hill for me to lie to get the perfect shot. As I lay there, I saw right into the window of the house, aiming at the window, I saw a hooded figure and guessed right away that it was the criminal everyone was talking about. I took the shot and the last thing the pathetic bitch heard was the glass shattering and the bullet piercing his skull into his useless brain.
"Headshot... Fatality!" I said to myself in a deep, mocked voice. Trying to imitate the guy off Mortal Kombat. By the time I got to the front of the house, the door had been unlocked and as I entered, I saw this girl of unmatched beauty. Hair golden-brown and long, eyes ocean-blue and innocent, and a trembling voice that made me drop to my knees in amazement."Thank you, Gun-God. You saved me!" She said with a slight smile. Was she talking to me? I think she was! This is awesome!
"Just doing my job, ma'am!" I said, trying to sound professional. Before we got anywhere else in the conversation, my phone made the sound it makes when I get a text: Thank you for saving that girl, it would have taken money and resources that we just don't have at the moment... I see you fancy her! Take her with you and I'll give you you're first job. Tell her that the house will be looked after and that we have food and shelter here to the highest standard. She can indulge herself to her little hearts content!
I still don't understand how they got my number, but it really doesn't bother me as much as it did before! I asked the girl to come with me and told her everything she needed to know in the text, she agreed to come for some reason, and we where off!
