The building was amazing! 10 stories high and 5 underground in an area completely separate from the rest of the city and civilisation itself! Once we parked, the girl was let outside to explore and eventually reach her room which I would expect would be on the top 3 floors somewhere. Whilst I was suppose to stay in the car... Which is understandable since I still have to go to that special meet-up place to see my mysterious texting buddy. So I quietly waited, and waited and waited and waited until I started getting bored. So, for about 5 mins max. As I was waiting there growing more and more impatient by the second, I got another text from that weirdly important someone! This time it read: You're probably really bored at this moment, I'll contact and tell the driver to stay in the hotel and I'll arrange a different driver for you. Can't expect too much from a 12 year old, so I'll spoil you! I'll have a Ferrari parked just to the right of your position, have fun!
You are the guest of honour, so why not?
A Ferrari? How cool's that! I wonder what kind it'll be... I'm hoping it'll be a 458 Italia, maybe an Enzo, the Scooter-thing one isn't that bad... I was so pumped at that time that I couldn't think straight, I was so hyped and jumpy that I almost forgot my guns, or that I even owned any, when the car arrived. The driver was appropriately dressed as the Stig but he had some sort of... Feeling with him... Like I couldn't trust him as much as the last driver... I hoped out of the left side of the car and got into the Ferrari and remembered that the text had said left, the driver took his helmet off and revealed the familiarly sick and twisted face of the hobo wizard suit-guy! Tried to open the car door but was stopped by a gentle hand, he told me that he wasn't the bad guy, but the other people where. That I should not go to the meeting spot no matter what! That Everything was staged from the very beginning... He brought up the fact that they had to get me to kill someone just so that they'd know who I was, which was a good point indeed. He explained that he was the apprentice to the hobo that mum hit about a month ago, and he was asked to kidnap my sister to get me to where he was, and was forced to give you a warning shot if you tried to run away... I didn't believe a word he said, so I punched him upside the mouth and smashed the door to try and escape, the car took off just as I got out and the final thing I heard the guy say was "Get away from that car!" Before he was out of sight. From the other side of the road, I noticed smoke coming out of the engine, but took the strange Stig-impersonators advice and stayed on the other side of the road. A few minutes later the smoke got bigger and more serious, the air was think in grey fog and fire debris. Just as I started to cough, I fell backwards and rolled into a bush full of thorns. Getting the prickles out one by one, I noticed fire coming from the drivetrain of the car and just before I could get up to see what was happening, the car exploded. A wild gush of what looked like a mushroom cloud appeared and engulfed the car along with a few other spaces along the carpark. A minute or two later and a shiny new Lamborghini appeared from over the horizon and parked to the left of the, now dead, car. The driver hopped out, turning out to be the original driver of the 4x4. He signalled towards me and I came running towards the car, I got another text from the same number as always, but I didn't check it until I was fully engaged in the driving experience of one of the greatest Supercars the world has ever seen. When I was finally bothered enough to check my phone, it read: you survived! Well done soldier! I don't know how you did it, but you managed to beat the bad guy at his own game and come out victorious! The game has only begun though... You will face many more challenges like that one and see many more explosions in your lifetime that people who play COD and Battlefield for a living! You have the courage and wit of a true Australian hero! I'm glad I chose you, you have a rare spark! If your still up for it, come and meet at the original spot. I hope you like the Lamborghini, it's not a Ferrari, but you did get to see one and that's good enough! See you soon!
By the time I finished reading the text, we where there. I saw a gathering of people from teenagers a little bigger than myself, to middle aged men/women in suits in lawn chairs. I nervously walked towards the group and made eye contact with a girl on her phone."You must be Jordan, correct?" She asked me. I stumbled back a little and replied cautiously, choosing my words carefully. She looked the same age as me.
"Y-yeah... I am... Are you the person who was texting me?" I asked calmly and somewhat confidently.
"No, your thinking my mother, I'm just texting my boyfriend!" She said with a smile, it was a warm smile, it suited her personality, from what I've gathered so far!
"Oh, Jordan!" Said an older woman. She sounded 26, maybe 27 years old and had a surprisingly low tone to her voice. She still seemed happy to see me for some reason...
She looked down at her phone, typed something and once she put her phone away, I got a text. It read: hello! The person your looking at right now is now your 'texting guardian'
Which is basically a fancy way of saying that I'll be helping you achieve your goal of whatever the company tells you to do, I'll give you step by step instructions, so make sure to have your phone on silent on recon missions!
I looked up at the woman for a while longer before talking.
