Lilys POV:
I stare out the window, a cool breeze gazing my cheeks lightly.
The stars flung across the sky, the moon beams gleaming through the glass, it felt... right.
For once.
The thing is, I'm different, something inside me... its changed.
I'm not who I was before.
My eye catches my pointe shoes, sitting solemnly in the very corner of the room.
Maybe not everything's changed.
I hesitate before silently creeping across the floorboards. Everyone's asleep.
The soft feel against my fingers feels so familiar as I pick them up, and I sneak out the door, a gush of icy wind hitting me like a bullet.
My toes freeze at the feel of the icy concrete floor, but I push past it. I manage to slip past filch and through an endless line of corridors until I reach the stairs.
The metal creaks softly as I put my weight onto it, as I try and walk as silently as I can up the stairs.
I take a deep breath as i reach the top, the castle spread out across me, the dark sky surrounding me, pulling me towards it.
I sit down on a ledge, and slip the shoe onto my foot. And then the next. I stand up and I dont know what came over me next.
It just happened.
Just like it used to.
Fred's POV:
I still feel awful, why didnt I believe her. I know her she wouldnt.
It's impossible to get her off my mind.
I toss and turn in bed, my sheets crumbling underneath me. A gentle breeze filling up the room from the open window next to my bed.
George has been asleep for hours. His bed groans as he turns in his sleep. Its deadly silent, except from the heavy breathing coming from his side of the room.
The urge comes like it does every night, and u head for the roof. It's the only place I go alone. It's the only place I spend most nights.
Nights like these, when I just cant let go.
I grip tightly onto the metal pole as the metal creaks from underneath my bare feet and I clamber up the stairs to the top.
The second I make it there, my eye catches a silhouette. A silhouette dancing.
I try not to fall and I balance myself along the thin peice of roof I had to stand on.
The figure continues to spin and turn, not once missing a beat. The sky is still and silent.
I hear nothing.
Nothing.
I just watch in awe... and the figure comes into focus.
Lily.
The tip of the astronomy tower is near, a mere point, get she heads for it.
I see her spin, almost as if I were matching her in slow motion. How the hell-
I inhale a sharo deep breath of icy cold air and feel it fill my lungs.
She steps down... her hair falling over her shoulders, her silk dress stopping in its tracks, and her eyes lock onto mine.
I see her chest fill up in shock as she freezes in her path.
We stand in silence for multiple seconds, her emerald eyes yet still tightly latched onto mine, the white fabric on her dressing her shoulders.
There are no words
Lilys POV:
The silence is deadly yet so peaceful.
The wind hits my cheek, sending an unpleasant shiver down my spine.
We hadn't spoken in weeks; the sting in my heart made me feel the pain that I didn't realise I had.
Before I knew it he was close to me, my eyes brimming, as were his.
"I'm so sorry." His eyes gleam. I've never seen him cry like this.
I hug him tight and I sob muffledly in hin arms.
***
Were lying next to each other on the slight slant of the roof, looking out to the slight glow on the horizon.
Neither of us could sleep, fairly obvious. I felt a tingling sensation in my fingertips as the sun rose, until I felt a drop of water on my palm.
"Fred, hey." I whisper towards him.
"Yes love." He turns his head to face mine.
"The rain you idiot." We both laugh at my remark.
"What the bloody hell are you on ab-" he is quickly interrupted by a sudden downpour of heavy rain.I give him a look which sort of said. That. I laugh as my hair becomes drenched within seconds, as does his.
I giggle and we make a run for the stairs... the wet fabric from my dress soaking and clinging to my body.
My hair curled at the end as it got wet and I whip my head to his and we laugh for what seems like forever.
"Hey you got a-" he looks at me and tucks a wet strand of hair from out of my face as we smile at each other.
He quickly breaks the tension.
"Oh um and Hagrid wanted to um see you." He says quietly, taking a small step away from me.He must of heard about me and draco-
"Oh okay, I'll go see him tommorow." I state, trying to keep my voice low as not to wake anyone.
And that was basically it.
***
Okay why am I doing this again.
Millions of thoughts cross my mind as usual on my way to Hagrids, and when I get there he gets me to follow him into the forest.
Smart.
"Put the cloak on lily." And I do so.
We creep past and twigs softly snap between my feet as we reach an ending.
Noise fills the air, warmth spreading across me as a realise what it is.
Fire spits into me, chains rattling in the distance. I see nothing less than.
Dragons.
It's the first task. It's the only thing it is and it's the only this it can be.
Oh god, what am I going to do, I'm going to die in this tournament.
