We're back at school and it's a new year. Ron sometimes sits with Hermione in the Hospital Wing. That's where he is now, I think. I walk through the halls to my next class, alone. I have Defense Against the Dark Arts, which is quickly growing to be my least favorite class. I sit down in the back. Draco isn't in this class and Ron is just not heere so I sit alone in the back so I can avoid Lockhart's stare. I open my book and flip to pate 457, as he instructed. I look at the page, but my eyes glaze over, since I'm not really paying attention. I think I read about the color of his cloak sixteen times. I shake my head and try to pay attention.

After class, I walk up to the Hospital Wing so I can find Ron. He's sitting by Hermione. Her absense has hurt him the most.

"Ron?" I whisper.

He turns to me. "Hey, Harry." He says, standing.

I stand with my hands in my pockets. "Do you want to...do something?" I ask slowly.

"Sure!"

So Ron and I head outside to the tree. It's still sharply cold. I shiver.

"How's Hermione?" I ask.

Ron shakes his head. "I don't know why I go. She can't here me or even sense that I'm there."

"Sorry." I say quietly.

"It's fine." Ron says. "It's really cold."

"I know!" I say loudly.

Ron looks at me oddly. I blush.

"Sorry, I-" I start. "Nevermind."

Ron chuckles. "Alright."

Later, I lay in bed. I think. I could probably still be friends with both of them, as long as I don't see them together. I sigh. Or maybe I could force them to like each other. I chuckle. Yeah, that would never work. I roll over. Whatever, I need sleep.

The next morning, I wake up. Ron's already gone. I hop up, get dressed and walk down to breakfast.

After, I run into Draco on my way outside.

"Oh, hi!" I say. "You want to come with me?"

Draco smiles. "Sure."

We walk out to the tree together. We sit on the first branch. I swing my feet back and forth.

"Okay, I need to say something." I say. "I know you hate Ron and fine, whatever, I can't change your mind, BUT, could you please be civil to him. I need you not be be mean to each other." I say
pleadingly.

Draco sighs. "I suppose...but I still hate him. And I'm only doing this for you, not him."

"Jesus, Draco, whatever." I say, exasperated. "I doubt he would think you were anyway."

Draco nods. "Fair."

We sit in silence for a bit. I drum my fingers on the tree. Draco grabs my hand and pulls me out of a tree. I barely manage to stay on my feet.

"Geez!" I cry as I trip.

Draco laughs. "Sorry."

I laugh too. He pulls me along.

"Where are we going?" I ask inquisitively.

"Shush." He says.

"So...you don't know?" I ask.

"Shush." He says again.

I sigh. He leads me inside the castle.

I groan. "Draco, please tell me."

He doesn't.

He stops. "Okay, I don't really know where we're going. I knew, and then I forgot."

I laugh. He hits me. "Shut it."

We sit on a bench in the courtyard.

"I forgot too." I say.

"Forgot what?" he asks.

"Forgot where we were going." I say.

"You never knew." He points out.

"I know." I sigh. "But I was just trying to make you feel better."

"You're too nice." Draco says. "And I mean that literally."

I laugh. "There's no such thing."

"Sure there is." He says. "You're living proof."

"I'm not too nice!" I cry.

Draco laughs. "You don't ever yell."

"Because that's mean!" I say.

"Exactly!" He says, laughing.

"Oh, whatever." I say. I shove him. "There. See, I'm not too nice."

He laughs harder. "Oh, come on." He says.

"I swear!" I say. "I'm not too nice! I'll punch you, to prove it."

Draco laughs even harder. "Harry, stop it. It doesn't have to be a bad thing."

I sigh. "Yeah, alright."

He slowly stops laughing. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything."

I smile. "Whatever, Draco."
