PLAY 22- LIPSTICK

TYPE'S POV

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY HEART. Its beating so fast like it will get out of my ribcage.

Tharn wasn't home yet. Did anything happen to him? God forbid! I keep on pacing back and forth in the living room while I keep on calling him.

"The number you have dialed is either unattended or out of coverage area, please try your call later."

I give up after a few tries.

I thought of calling Maeliyng Selene. Yes.. I will call her.

After a few rings, she answered me.

"Mae, is Tharn still there? He didn't come home yet.. I'm worried." I hurriedly ask because my heart still beating fast.

"He left after their heated conversation with his father Type.. I don't know where he go.."

My shoulders drop low.
"Thank you Mae."

I tried calling one of his friends. I didn't know them personally, we are now on our 2 years but I did not took courage to stay close to his circle of friends, beside Pete and Rain. Yes.. Maybe I can call them.

I call Rain.

He answered immediately and a loud music welcomes my ear.

"Type? Looking for Tharn? He's with me.. I will sent him home soon. He looks problematic and he didn't tell us what's wrong."

"Please send him home safe. I'm so worried Rain. Thank---" I didn't finish my words when he canceled my call.

I am quite relieved that Rain is with him, but the weird beat of my heart remains.

I look at my piled school works on my study table. I sigh. Too much works just to graduate with flying colors. I hope Tharn will be alright.

I decided to go to the kitchen to keep the food that I cooked in the fridge. Then I started my school works.

I didn't notice that I slept while studying.

I woke up in our bed. The smell of the food welcome my senses.
I got up and freshen up then I go downstairs. I saw Tharn cooking breakfast.

"Baby? Good morning.. What time did you came home?" I hug him on his back.

"Morning baby.. Around 2am and I saw you sleeping in the study table in the living room so I carried you. Did you tire yourself on you school works?" Tharn turn around and kiss my lips.

"I can manage. How about you? I called you many time but your phone was off. I called Mae Selene because I was so worried. Then I called Rain. He told me you were with him.. Care to tell me your problem baby?"
I said and I move to prepare the table.

"I'm okay.. You know my father.. The same issue." he shook his head, clearly stating that we will not talk about it.

"You can always tell me.. I'm willing to listen baby.. Whatever your problems are also my problems, that's what married couple do.. Okay?" I rubbed his back.

He smiled at me but it was cold. He isn't fine but I didn't force him to share it with me.

"I'm okay.. Focus on your studies and make us proud baby.. Just keep in mind that I love you..." Tharn said while he put food on my plate.

"Just keep in mind too that I love you too baby.. And I am always here for you.. No matter what.. Let's eat and go to school."

We eated, since Tharn is ready for school I go up to take a shower. While stripping. I noticed the clothes he wore yesterday. I get it and look at it.

It's a lipstick stain. On his neckline.
I put his clothes on my nose and sniff on it.

A woman's perfume.

I hitch my breath. Calming myself.
Be calm Type. Don't jump into conclusions. Rain was with him. Maybe some woman spoke with Tharn.. Yes that's it.. That's it.. I nodded and put it back and decided to take a shower. Ignoring the abnormal beat of my heart.

I am not on my usual self even when we arrived at the university.

IU with her sharp senses noticed it.
She drag me in the cafeteria.

"Something is bothering you?" She ask me while we seated on our usual spot.

"You know me so well best friend.." I smirk at her and she just smack my nape.

I was about to smack her nape also when we heard voices behind us.

"Rumors spreaded today that Miss Artia, our prof in PolSci was Tharn's ex!"

My ears irk up. I turn around and I saw bunch of students talking behind us. IU move to stop them but I motioned her to keep quiet. IU creases her forehead at me but she sit down again.

"Yes .. They were a couple before and so much inlove. "

"Where did you know that info?"

"By someone, they were seen last night in a club and they were very sweet,"

"Do you think they get back again?"

"how would I know, maybe yes maybe no."

"But Tharn was wearing a wedding ring since 2years ago.. He haven't removed it ever since."

"Do you think Artia is the wife?"

IU stand up and I didn't stop her. I felt like I am deaf for a minute. I felt numb.

The familiar smell of the perfume..
It was her.

"Who do you think you're talking about bitches?! You're talking about my step brother right in front of my face? Do you want to stay in this university or I will have you kick out one by one?!" IU's voice echoed inside the cafeteria. Of course, she can do that. She's a shareholder in this school. At a very young age.

"I'm sorry IU." They said in chorus.

"I'll remember your faces. Move yourself away from me, dont wait until my vision will be black or you will be sorry." she slam her palm on their table making them jolt and hurriedly leave.

"IU, don't make a scene please..+" I pulled her to sit with me.

"What was that all about?"

"It's nothing, it's just conclusions of some gossipers. Don't mind them."
I croaked, swallowing the forming lump on my throat.

"Type.. Tell me.. What happened?"

I tell her all that I know. Except for the lipstick stained clothes of Tharn and the perfume. I don't want to create a feud between them. They are family. I know IU will be on my side. But I thought about Mae Selene. I don't want to create a problem between them.

I rather keep my conclusions and investigate all by myself.

Marriage life is indeed like you are holding roses, you are hurt by the thorns, but you still hold on.

But I will prepare for the worst.
