Chapter 1: The war that's lasted centuries!

A dragon with a sleek yellow hide, black striped back, and black horns landed swiftly on the rocky path. The dragon seemed young. It walked into a cave with other dragons present. They all seemed older. One was royal blue, with beautiful wings and horns that shined. A black dragon with grey wings and horns bowed to the yellow one. The yellow one bowed back. The blue one smiled and the three suddenly shrinked with a puff of smoke. The yellow one turned into a young girl with hazel brown hair in a pony tail, gold eyes, tan skin, yellow and black knight armor, and a gigantic black sword on her back. The blue dragon turned into a beautiful woman with dark brown hair in a low pony tail, blue eyes, pale skin, blue knight armor, and a slim blue sword on her hip, the black turned into a man with a tough build, spiky hazel brown hair, gold eyes, black knight armor, and a red axe on his back. "Aero, glad you could make it." The man said to the girl. "Skip the formalities, bro." The girl grinned at him. The man scoffed and smiled warmly at her. "Happy to have you here Aero. You have earned it." The woman smiled. "Thanks Clarity." Aero patted Clarity on the back. "Jet was worried this was going to go to your head." Clarity smirked and Aero eyed her brother. "I told you that in confidence." Jet glared, but he was only teasing. Clarity smiled up at him. "I just wanted to lighten the mood. Your always so serious." Clarity shrugged. Aero put an arm on Clarity's shoulder. "She has a point, bro." Aero grinned. "Good to see the trio." They turned to see a man in grey armor with a beard, black hair, and red eyes. "Feo. It's not nice to see you." Aero greeted with a snarl. "Charming as usual." Feo smiled. "I should get to guard duty." Clarity walked off. Feo looked after her. "She's too elegant for my liking." Feo shrugged and Jet glared. "There are a lot of things that 'aren't to your liking'." Aero grumbled. "You're to my liking." Feo smiled and Aero felt her stomach clench in disgust. "Listen Feo, I hate to leave like this buddy, but I think Clarity needs some help with guard duty." Jet grabbed Aero's hand in a strong grip and yanked her away before Aero got a chance to use her right hook on Feo. "I was going to hit him." Aero complained. "That's why I pulled you away." Jet whispered into her ear. Aero huffed in anger. She looked at Clarity and elbowed Jet. "You haven't courted her yet?" Aero asked with a hiss to her tone. Jet glared at her. "What do you think?" Aero rolled her eyes at that. Aero breathed in and stopped. Everyone else froze. "What's that smell?' Aero asked a little uncomfortable. "A human." Jet told her calmly. Aero looked up at him in surprise. They sniffed the air and tracked it coming from outside the cave. There was a girl with short spiky blonde hair, misty grey eyes, a jagged scar on her left eye, black short sleeve, white vest, blue shorts, no shoes, and an eagle feather in her ponytail. "A HUMAN!" Feo growled and turned into a dragon dashing at her. Jet turned int his dragon form blocking Feo off. "ENOUGH!" He growled. Aero walked up to Echo while this happened. "Hm...seem smaller than I thought they were." Aero poked her in the forehead. Echo tensed. "Relax. I don't have a quarrel with humans." Aero held out a hand to her. "The name is Aero." Aero greeted. The girl swallowed and held out her hand, "Echo." Aero sent her a smile. "So what brings you here Echo?" Aero asked. Echo plays with her hands, "A dragon by the name of Argon raised me. He said I should come. To help..." Echo replied quietly. Everyone's eyes widened at the name. "Argon sent you?" Feo asked in shock. "Then she is welcome." Jet said glaring at Feo. "Agreed." Clarity nodded in agreement. Jet returned to his earlier form followed by Feo. Jet sent her a thankful smile. "Hold on so we are just going to let a human...work with us?" It was little shy Kirito. He was a blue dragon, he had short blue spiky hair, red eyes, white shorts sleeved button up shirt with a black long sleeved shirt under neath, black pants, and black shoes. He also has a fairy necklace, and a scar over his left eye. He was their ambassador and connection with the fairies. He arranged any bargains. He was respected despite his age. "Yes, Kirito." Jet sent him a comforting smile. Kirito was shy and looked up to Jet so he just nodded. "Alright let's get on with this meeting shall we?" Clarity asked kindly. The group gathered at the front of the room. "What is our plan of attack sir?" One dragon called out to Jet. "It is simple. We are getting tired. This war has lasted longer than I have lived. My grandfather, Argon, sent this letter with our guest. 'Dear fellow dragons, there is a war coming. A war far worse than the one we have endured for centuries now. The gargoyles have been using our turmoil to hide in the shadows and silently prepare for war against dragons and fairies. I have sources that tell me so. As your advisor I must say we must come to a temporary truce with the fairies if we are to survive this attack.' So we are going to assemble a small team and send them in to talk to the fairies. Which will be led by Aero." Jet explained. Aero nodded in understanding. "Take Kirito, and Echo." Clarity advised with a nod. Aero nodded. "But sir-!" "No buts! My grandfather was one of our best leaders. He has never led you or I astray. Do you doubt him now?" Jet challenged the congregation. The cave silenced. "Good." The crowd dispersed. Jet turned to Aero. "Be safe." Jet put hands on her shoulders. Aero looked in his eyes and could spot the worry. "Don't worry so much. I can handle this." Aero smiled comfortingly. She kissed her brother on the cheek after hugging him and then she turned to Echo. "You'll ride on my back. I don't trust boys that much." She told Echo. "Good girl." Jet grinned. Clarity elbowed him in the gut. "Keep it clean you two." Aero winked and before they could get angry she ran out of the cave. The rest followed.

As the group flew Echo kept reaching up at the clouds. Aeron flew into one and sneezed. "Wet." Aero growled. Echo froze. "You don't move your mouth when you talk?" Echo asked. Aero seemed to scoff. "You're touching me. Which means I am able to speak to your mind." Aero explained. "Which also means you can talk to other dragons." Kirito told her. Echo smiled. "That's cool." Echo told them. "Yeah, we used to talk to humans all the time. Till they captured us and used us as entertainment." Kirito said with distaste. "Maybe you can trust us now." Echo reasoned. "Maybe..." Kirito trailed off. "Stay focused guys. First an alliance with the fairies then make friends with the humans, understood?" Aero seemed to laugh. Echo had to admit for scales the ride was comfortable. Their scales were smooth and shiny and she admired the color dance. "What started the war between Dragons and Fairies anyways?" Echo asked curiously. Aero scoffed, "You mean you don't know?" Echo shook her head. Aero sighed. "It was long ago...we were on good terms. We were having the annual Fire Festival and decided to invite the Fairies to come joing the festivities. Not long after the Fairies attacked the humans because the incompetent humans wanted more land and gold. We intervened trying to stop the blood shed. Soon the fairies took it as a sign of war...my brother, Jet, was born years later and they found that an act of war as well. So they bore a child and had decided that my brother was to die by his hands. They sent him after Jet. Jet killed him instead." Aero explained. "Deep." Echo whispered. "I'll say." Aero huffed. Soon they reached their destination. "Think they'll be friendly?" Echo asked as they reached the ground. They turned into their smaller forms. Then they were surrounded. "Does that answer your question?" Aero put her hands up.
