Day turned to night and the group decided it was time to rest. They landed and the dragons went back to normal. Aero stretched and yawned. She sighed and let herself fall to the ground with a sigh. "I'm going to sleep." Aero said laying her head on her forearm. Echo laughed and plopped down next to Aero. Aero peeked a glance at her. Arica sat next to Aero as well and smiled down at her. Aero scoffed and closed her eyes. Circo walked over and nudged Aero with his foot. "Come on and help get some fire wood before you go to sleep." Circo ordered with a grunt. Aero groaned and sat up with a defiant jolt. "Fine." She shot up and put her sword back on. They could here the loud click it made. "How much does that way?!" Arica gasped a little. Aero scoffed, "Like to see for yourself?" Aero had a growing smirk on her face. Daxton scoffed in return holding his hand out expectantly. Aero grinned and handed it to him. Daxton felt confident as he had the handle in hand, but once Aero let go the weight surprised him making it drop and stick in the ground. Daxton felt his eyes widen and his shoulder pop. Aero laughed. "Here let me help you with that Peter Pan." Aero yanked it out of the ground. "Just go get the firewood." Circo grumbled. Aero rolled her eyes, but went anyways. She came back and set it up. She created a small spark and lit the grass which put the firewood to life. She smiled at her handiwork and unclipped her sword and set it on the ground. Kirito laughed as Arica whispered into his ear. The two ended up cuddling and closing their eyes to sleep in each other's arms. Aero fell backwards with a plop once again. "So what's Kirito's and Arica's story?" Echo asked curiously. Aero dazed at the stars. "Kirito once told me he had a personal problem with us being at war with the fairies." Aero put in her piece. Daxton scoffed sitting next to Aero cross-legged. "Kirito and Arica were childhood friends. When the war started they had to be separated. Kirito and Arica had been slowly falling in love and so before they left Kirito snuck over to talk to Arica. He told her his feelings and kissed her before he left." Daxton explained. Everyone eyed Daxton. "What? Arica blabbers a lot." Daxton defended himself. They couldn't disagree. "What about you Echo? What's your story?" Aero asked. Echo looked at her new friend and shrugged, "I was an orphan. Argon found me and he decided to raise me. But to make it seem normal he was always in his smaller form. I only recently found out about his secret a couple days ago when he told me he needed me to send a message to his family." Echo explained looking at the fire dance. Aero watched as she explained. "Sounds like gramps." Aero scoffed looking back up at the sky. "I've known I was raised by fairies the whole time." Circo shrugged. Aero smirked. "I guess Dragons are more secretive." Aero scoffed watching as an ember flew up into the sky. "I don't think so. I mean you do keep secrets, but not without a reason. Argon just wanted me to be happy and have a normal childhood." Echo shrugged. Aero looked at Echo in small shock. "The dragons, from what I know, are smart, kind, caring, and loyal. I'd trust them." Echo said smiling at Aero. Aero's eyes widened. Aero sent her a very small smile. "What about you Aero? What's your story?" Daxton asked. Aero glanced at him. He watched as her gold eyes looked at him. He admired their unique color, and thanks to the firelight it seemed to make the color look more bold. "My parents died in war...shortly after I was born. Jet, my older brother, raised me. I trained for years to find who killed my parents. Jet told me repeated times he was worried about my vengeful path. But I never listened." Aero said looking at the fire. Daxton watched as a guilty look came across her face. "I asked so many how my parents died. Finally my brother told me that they were killed by humans they were trying to protect from the battle that was going on by the fairies and the dragons. He told me I could do whatever I wanted with the information. Just know that what I did would impact somebody in some way." Aero said turning to look at Daxton. "So I went to go kill the people who took my parents from me. It was a stormy night and when I barged through the cottage door I saw a father drunk and beating his kids. I was enraged. I grabbed the fathers hand and threw him back into the wall. The children cried for their father's safety. When I heard this I turned at them. The oldest son who was probably seven kicked at me. I knelt in front of them and blocked the kicks with ease. I proceeded to ask why they fought so hard for such a terrible father." Aero paused as if she were experiencing the same confusion she did back then. "They answered, "Because mommy would be even more upset."...I turned and finally noticed a woman sobbing. I closed the door and glanced at the unconcious father. I knelt in front of the mother. "Miss," I had called out. She looked at me teary eyed. "I'm a dragon..." Before I could say anymore she had grabbed the sides of my face and looked at me with red teary eyes. "You...you were the young dragon that the other one spoke of. The older boy dragon...he claimed he had a baby sister...after the battle...my husband...he has never been the same...he...he thought they were going to kill us so when they went into a smaller form...he killed them...I am so....so very sorry. Could you ever forgive us?" I..." Aero paused once again. "I put my hands over hers and lifted them off my cheeks. I put the husband on the bed and sat down. The children were convinced that I would no longer hurt their father so they began to play games with me. I played games until they tired themselves out. I tucked them all into bed and smiled down at them. The father came into the room and he looked like he was about to crumble at the site of me. "I am so sorry!" He wailed. I pushed him out of the room as to not awaken the children. "Hush...we don't want them waking up." I had told him softly. The mother sat there pleading silently. I gazed at her and then looked back up at him. "You know I have spent all my life looking for those who took my parents' lives..." When I said this the father was crying once again. "But...seeing as how this has hurt you more than me...makes me understand that revenge isn't what is needed with you...it's forgiveness." I put my hand on his shoulder with a smile. "Stop your aimless drinking. Stop abusing those that care for you. Your wife is practically in shambles. I have forgiven you. So please...move on. Raise those children right. They deserve better than to be treated like that...don't have them waste their lives like I did in fear or hate of you." She smiled and then headed for the door. "I'll be surprise visiting you to check up on your progress. You better start shaping up." And that was that. I did visit, still do. I kind of spoil the kids rotten though." Aero chuckled. "Wow. That is way...surprising." Echo said in shock. "Thought you would've done worse to the guy." Circo said in agrrement. Aero glared unharmingly. "What about you Peter Pan?" Aero asked looking at him. He sighed and looked at the fire, "I guess it's only fair. My parents were killed in war, and then my cousin was." After he said that his eyes flickered to Aero. Aero met his gaze. "By your elder brother." Daxton challenged unknowingly. Aero sat up and met his glare with one of her own. "My brother defended himself." Aero spat. "He still killed him." "Or your cousin would have killed him!" Aero argued right back. "This is why dragons are so stupid! You're stubborn and arrogant!" Daxton growled standing up. Aero stood, "You fairies are all alike, you're both ignorant and petty!" Aero threw right back at him. He watched as her eyes lit, but despite his fascination he kept his angry look. The space between them got smaller as they glared each other down. Their angry breaths mixed together, but neither would back down. "That's enough!" Circo ordered. "Aero remember the missio-!" Echo was An arrow flew past and straight for Aero, but she deflected it with her tail. "Wake up Kirito and Arica!" Aero ordered drawing her sword. Daxton drew his daggers and put one in each hand. Circo pulled out his sword, Echo drew her bow, Arica pulled out her katannas and finally Kirito pulled out his blue scythe. They stood and gargoyles jumped Circo. Circo gripped the sword and it glowed red as the gargoyle met the blade it instantly dispersed. Echo shot one going for her and it disappeared with a flash of light. The two blocked an attack going for the other. "Thanks." They simultaneously said with a smile. They both yanked their attackers at each other making them break on impact. The two nodded at each other as they went to take on some more. Kirito held up his scythe as Arica jumped and landed on it and smashed a gargoyle with ease. Then Kirito smashed one coming from behind. "I wish I could kiss you right now." Kirito grinned at her. She laughed and killed another gargoyle. Aero ran a gargoyle through. Daxton through a dagger at the gargoyles head. He turned and kicked another one away. He was running out of daggers, and was surrounded. Suddenly like a flash of lightning Aero was there and chopped them all down with ease. She was breathing heavily. "That took way too much out of you didn't it?" He asked a little upset. She stood straight and glared at him. "Just worry about yourself, Peter Pan. I'm built like a fortress." She ordered. Her eyes widened, "Look out!" She moved so fast his eyes widened as he turned to see she protected him from his own dagger being used by a dying gargoyle. She groaned and held her side. She stomped on it's head and turned quickly. "Idiot!" Daxton shouted as he stared down at her injury. Thankfully the wave of enemies died. Echo ran over and pushed her down to the ground. "You gotta take off your upper armor." Echo ordered. Aero was in no place to start an arguement so she unstrapped the armor and took it off. "I'm going to remove it now. Okay?" Echo asked. Aero met her gaze with a determined stare. "Do it..." Aero said as she pulled out a black cloth and stuffed her mouth. Echo nodded slowly. Echo put her hands on the dagger and pulled. Aero was covered in sweat and her screams were muffled by the cloth. Once Echo had pulled it out Aero spat out the cloth. Aero glanced at the blood covered dagger, but returned her attention to her bleeding side. Echo pulled out water and poured it on her wound. She put on a cream of sorts. "This cream should prevent too much bleeding and help it heal." She then covered it up with clean bandages. Aero nodded as Echo pulled back down Aero's shirt. Aero sat up wincing. "Let's get a move on." Aero said as she started to put back on her armor. "Are you crazy?! You're injured!" Daxton shouted. Arica nodded vigorously. "Dealt with worse. We need to get away from here. Who knows how many more gargoyles there are." Aero said as she strapped it back on with a grunt. She attached her sword back on. Daxton grabbed her arm. "You aren't flying like that. Kirito can carry you guys." Daxton ordered. Kirito nodded and stood straighter. Aero glanced at Echo. Aero nodded in defeat. Kirito turned into his dragon form and Echo and Circo climbed on. Aero was about to jump on when Daxton sent her a glare. Aero glared back. Daxton rolled his eyes and picked her up off of the ground and set her on Kirito. Aero grumbled a thank you and held onto Kirito. Daxton felt himself smile and then they set off.
