Chapter Seven: Leaving Town

You're still tired when you wake up the next morning, and barely manage to roll out of bed and get ready for school. You couldn't resist using your powers to check through all the police channels on your radio, searching for any word of the Turner Health workers. Unfortunately, you ended up finding quite a lot. Between the sudden appearance of the anonymous note directing the security guards to the man in the lab coat who'd tried to kidnap you and the odd frequencies that messed with most of the school's radios, the police were confused and trying to figure out just what happened yesterday afternoon. Seeing as both you and Peter could be seen on security cameras around the area during the incident, you were more than a little worried that some security guards would come knocking on your door.

When you told all this to Peter, he agreed with your fears. Too many people had seen his powers or guessed at yours, so it was about time that you two found a new place to lie low for a while. Peter suggested Xavier's school, and you readily agreed. Charles Xavier had always been kind to you, and it would be nice to go to a school where you would be around other mutants your age. You decided to leave at the end of the week, and after a tearful goodbye to Michelle, you packed your bags and headed out to Xavier's school.

And thus began the road trip to end all road trips. Seeing as you and Peter wouldn't be visiting town anytime soon, you both felt free to use your powers to your heart's content. Peter got bored and stole snacks from gas stations - while the car was moving. When a truck next to you kept blaring its music, you used your powers to keep turning down the volume until the driver got mad and you suddenly turned it up to max volume. You two could barely hear your own laughter over the sound of the truck driver's furious cursing.

Eventually, you reached the area surrounding the school. The closer you two got to the school, the more concerned Peter got. "It's like I can sense something bad is about to happen." You two eventually decide that Peter should go quickly check on the school, both to make sure everything's okay and that the school is actually taking students in the first place, so he kisses you goodbye and you watch him sprint off into the distance. Once he fades from view, you turn on the car and drive after him. Who knows what you'll find at Xavier's school?
