Y/N Pov:

Honestly, you didn't think anyone would respond. I thought "it's a dumb trend but I'm bored and I need to make friends somehow" so I joined in. This trend was called number neighbor. You texted or called someone who has the same phone number as you with one number off. So if your number is 555-555-5555 your number neighbor would be 555-555-5556 (or 5554). So I put the number in and texted them.

Y/n: Is this the crusty crab?

Unknown: nO tHiS iS pAtRiCk

Y/n: wow didn't expect you to get that

Unknown: ugh can't you tell I'm a meme royalty?

Y/n: of course your majesty I apologize

Unknown: btw who is this?

Y/n: oh your number neighbor!

Uknown: Oh you're doing that trend well howdy neighbor what brings you here?

Y/n: idk I was bored and thought why not?

For the next couple of weeks, we were back to forth texting and exchanging memes, and eventually got to call and talk to each other. The first time was on accident since I was debating on calling him and pressed the button on accident. "oh shit oh shit oh shit" I was panicking getting ready to end it when he picked up pretty fast. It was kinda quiet and awkward until I heard a "hello?", god his voice sounded so cute and I really didn't want to admit it. "uh- sorry I didn't mean to call you this late" "well you did so let's continue our convo, I 100% believe a hot dog is a sandwich if you disagree we might have to end this right here right now". He moved on and started talking while I was trying to calm down how hot my face felt. "Well we just might because you're an idiot if you believe that" "WHAT HOW COULD YOU, I BELIEVED IN YOU-". We talked the entire night which didn't help since I had work that morning.

Blaming him I trudged into the cafe grabbing my nametag with y/n in a pretty font and stickers around it and heading to the register. After ringing people up for the day I had to inform one guy in the corner of the shop we were closing up. My coworker left early and I started cleaning up. 'Honestly, he stays so late, he's not bad looking though,' I thought while sweeping up staring at him gathering his stuff. He caught me staring at him saying "hey princess take a picture it'll last longer". With a playful smile, he stood there like he was actually waiting for a picture to be taken. Embarrassed I turned and tell him to have a good night while heading to the back.

It's been months of Denki and I regularly talking and texting throughout the day. I keep thinking "when will he  finally ask me out or at least meetup", I don't know how he feels about me or us or if we are even an "us"
