Silence fills Brandon's truck as no one can come up with anything to say. I twist in my seat to look at Leo in the back who is leaning between our two seats. His eyes not straying from the back of Brandon's head. He looks like a psycho fan girl when he has that look in his eyes. I say looks like... he is a psycho fan girl when it comes to Brandon. He and Cole idolise the guy just because he's so careless about everything.
We pull up in front of the bar and the first thing I notice is all the bikes lined up outside of it, all different colours and brands. I feel so tempted to run and jump on one of them and just ride off into the sunset. Instead, I stay put in my car seat waiting for some sort of instruction, since I could not be more terrified to walk into a building. The three familiar motorbikes pull up behind us and park their bikes in the line, which I now notice has 'Oscars' Harley balancing on the end. The three of us climb out of Brandon's truck and Leo and I follow him over to 'Harls' and the others, who are chatting amongst themselves and only flicker their attention to us momentarily.
I stare up at the blinking red sign that glows even brighter than the sun as it sets early on us. It's the only decoration on the building, a massive red sign that reads 'Murphy's'. Under the dark sky, it's the only lighting we have, leaving red strokes to light up everyone's faces.
"Piper and Ivy are inside" Axel tells 'Harls' as we cross the car park towards their huddle. That's her name, Piper, I knew it wasn't Oscar. Who is Oscar then? And who is Mike? Who are any of these people honestly, what am I doing here?
"Let's head in" 'Harls' takes lead and swings the door open for us to follow him inside. Noah and Axel keep behind me, their heads held high, looking like they're keeping guard. So far so good we've made it through the door.
"Breathe" I think Noah whispered behind me; I could hear the smile in his voice. I'm trying to Noah
As I step on to the dark red carpet, alcohol and cigarette smoke floods my senses, I brush the pungent smell off and pay my attention towards the heads that twist in our direction as the door slams shut behind us. Their wandering eyes lead themselves to the Vice President in front before going back to minding their own business, barely noticing me and Leo shielding ourselves behind him and Brandon. However, the further we walk into the seemingly darkening bar the more eyes I can feel burning the hairs on my neck. Leo flinches each time one of them make even the slightest of movements... he's a bigger wuss than me.
My eyes shift to my outfit, short pink skirt and crop top, any girl knows it's not the best idea to walk in a bar dressed like this. I'm bound to get unwanted attention. Especially compared to everyone else in the sea of black leather jackets. I flit my eyes warily over the crowd of various men and women, not all of their jackets read 'Malevolent' like my new acquaintance's, some of them have 'Black Jack's' sewn in dark grey thread across their backs, must be another MC.
The red light seemed to follow us inside as it fills the bar, I feel like I just walked straight into a horror movie. By the time we reach Ivy and Piper at the bar almost everyone is staring at the fresh meat that just walked in.
"Might as well turn back around Harls; Pres has left for some meeting with 'Reapers'" Ivy tells us with a sigh, as she leans against the wooden counter that is lined with people still staring Leo and I down. We're not that interesting! No need to stare... I've only just realised there's music playing. It's a quiet hum in my ears beneath the sound of chatter, but a handful of people are swaying along to the beat.
"Am I being paranoid or is everyone staring?" Leo instantly agrees with me, harshly nodding his head. I'm trying so hard to avoid the eyes but it's impossible when you can feel them burning into you.
"You're not a biker, and that's obvious" Noah gestures to my outfit. "you don't belong in the bar, if Harley wasn't here you wouldn't have made it through the door" Thank you Noah that really helped my nerves. At least I know his name really is Harley now, weird that he has the same name as his bike. I find myself shuffling closer to Harley for whatever protection he can apparently give me. After all he does seem to be the Vice President, so he's the most help I'll get in this place. He looks over his shoulder to me sheltered behind him and scoffs before looking back to the girls.
