I manage to see Leo's blonde pile of hair from the other side of the busy cafeteria and jog over to my friend's table. No, I haven't told them about the extremely weird events of last night. One; they'll think I'm crazy for agreeing to go, and two; I don't usually tell people my business, so why should I now?
Just as I take my seat, Hazel not so discreetly leans over and whispers something into Andrea's ear. But we're never secretive, I'm pretty sure we know anything and everything there is to know about each other. I've grown up with them, there's nothing I don't know, so what's with the whispering?
"Something going on?" I lean in to the two of them as they huddled closer to each other, talk about a third wheel.
"Oh, no it's nothing" Hazel dismisses me with barely a glance in my direction, making my brows crease even deeper. Well, I know for sure that was a lie, what's going on here?
"Have you spoken to anyone from last night?" I quickly push a finger to Leo's lips in an attempt at hushing his question. He never knows when to be quiet.
"No, but I'm going to try talk to Brandon today and see if Stanley still wants to talk" I edge closer so he can hear my whisper, the volume that he should've been talking at. Last night Harley said he'd be seeing me again, so I take that as I can still get in touch with Stanley. But I can't exactly show up to Murphy's whenever I feel like it.
"You're going to approach Brandon? Without witnesses?" I don't think Brandon is as bad as people have made him out to be, so Leo should have nothing to worry about.
"it was fine when we spoke to him yesterday"
"That was yesterday, now it's today" I just shrug at him and turn to Cole, but he doesn't notice me as he's too busy murmuring in Hazel's ear making a giggle fly out of her lips. A leather jacket catches my eyes as it passes swiftly by our table, making me hop up from my seat. Maybe approaching him at school isn't the best idea, but there isn't really any other time I'll see him. And like Leo said, I might need witnesses.
"I'll be back in a sec" Leo takes a few seconds to take his focus off of the pile of cookies about to land in his mouth, before holding his eyes on me whilst I trail Brandon over to his empty table. He claimed it for himself back in sophomore year, even back then everyone was too scared to say no. "I need to talk to you" what the hell am I doing? Just yesterday I wouldn't have even considered making eye contact with this guy, but here I am sat opposite him asking for a favour.
"Do you have to sit on my table to do that? People are gonna think that it's acceptable now" he doesn't even shift his eyes from the screen of his phone, but somehow knew it was me sat in front of him.
"I want to meet Stanley"
"Good for you" this guy is even colder than Harley.
"I wouldn't know where to look"
"Are you trying to ask me something?" well obviously.
"Could you ask Harley to help me out?" since you don't seem very willing.
"You could ask him yourself"
"How do you suppose I do that?"
"So many questions" he groans and finally looks up from his phone. "Pass your phone" hesitantly I comply. And I slide my device across the table. What does he want with my phone? "no password" he shakes his head at my phone and taps his thumbs along my screen. i never really needed a password. maybe i do now that i'm placing myself into dangerous circumstances. He hands it back to me and I now have a new contact under Harley's name. "Now you can ask him all your questions"
