Chapter 12 - "The Magical Door That Swallowed Our Friend".

They returned to the mansion where Rose had been waiting patiently by the door. "Thank goodness you are alive, Quick! We thought you were a goner." Rose sympathetically stared at Quick. Quick looked at his feet, "I'm sorry I ran off like that, I thought I could take her alone. I didn't know how crazed she could be. Honestly, I wanted to take her alone. I didn't want to drag my friends into my problems." Sandora strutted over to Quick, "Well, even though you didn't follow the plan, I'm glad you are alive." Sandora smirked. Quick nodded.

"We still need to get out of here. Out of this...this story! This loop hole!" Rat exclaimed. Sandora nodded, "if only we could find a way. It seems almost impossible." She stroked her temple with her hand whilst resting it on her other arm, crossed. "I don't know if we will all make it out alive. I don't know if ANY of us will make it out alive. Who knows what this man will have up his sleeve next." Sandora spoke in frustration.

"Maybe we should explore outside, stand our ground, see if we can spot anything." Mark says. Rat nods, "I wish us all the best of luck, every man for themselves." They said in masked bravery. Rat was first to leave the mansion, followed by Rose, Sandora, Mark, and Quick. Quick had went to go grab his axe that had been resting by the front entrance, only for him to see nothing at all. A shiver went down his spine. Something told him in the back of his mind this trip wouldn't be so easy. He made sure to keep his guard.

Quick had hurried along side Mark, sticking close to his side. "Something is terribly off, Mark." Quick stated. Mark curiously glanced at Quick, "care to elaborate?". Mark seemed worried but he masked his concern with courage. "I went to grab my axe, it was by the front entrance. It's no longer there, Mark." Quick gulped quietly as he noticed he had been stressed to the point he forgot to breathe for a couple seconds.

Mark's eyes no longer showing courage, but unmasking his concern. "Maybe one of the others took it? I don't want to jump to conclusions, we already have enough weight on us." Mark looked at his boots. They had white covered snow bouncing on the strings of his shoes, slowly melting away. "I hope you're right." Quick inhaled through his nose softly, catching the smell of pine.

"Guys look!" Rat exclaimed in pure shock. In the middle of the forest there was, nothing. Nothing was there. "Do you see something?" Sandora questioned, confused by the obvious gesture of Rat who was pointing at air. "Do you see that hinge? It's like there is a door here, but...it's not actually here." Rat said in total remark. Rat walked steadily to what she had seen and waved at the air. Their hand came crashing into a hard surface, obviously startling them. Rat fumbled where a door handle would usually be on a regular door. They managed to find a circler shape and twisted it. The world opened to a white light, blinding nearly everyone in the group.

"I don't know if we should go in there! What if we don't come back out?" Rose hesitated. "Even if we don't, this is an obvious sign of something we need to discover." Rat bravely stated, "Even if we don't come out, this could be the end, the end where we go home." Rat took a breath in and walked through the door. There was ruffling noises heard around the group, that Rat couldn't have seemed to hear. "Rat! Don't! Have you learned nothing?!-" Sandora's words were cut off by Rats body being pulled into the white void. Rat's bloody scream was heard as they got pulled inward. "RAT!" Rose screamed in terror as the door shut before them.

Had Rat really learned nothing from everything? Nothing was to be trusted anymore, not even there own friends. The group stood there is disbelief. What the hell was that thing? Was that really how Rat left this world? Through a magical vortex?

"It seems they have learned nothing." A voice spoke. Quick then heard the sound of a slash to skin, and next thing he noticed.

Rose's body hitting the floor, she didn't even make a noise.
