| Back to Lydia's P.O.V |
"Well that wasn't the bloodbath that I'd expected" Adrien murmurs as he takes a seat beside me in our first block; math class.
I glance at him, "why would you expect a bloodbath?" I ask wondering if Carter had dropped any hints about our vampirism.
"Because Cart and the three musketeers don't exactly always get along"
I let out a breath of relief,
"three musketeers?" I repeat a minute later with a short laugh.
"Well yes, Cause saying Jordan, Reece and Nate takes way too long""Yeah I guess"
"Hey Jordy, come join us" Adrien yells as the white haired boy steps through the classroom door.
Jordy? Hmm Adrien must feel real comfortable around the boys now, I wonder how Carter feels.
"Hey" Jordan greets, while taking a seat on my left.
I turn my head slightly and take in his awkward state, other than me Jordan hasn't really attempted to make friends."We should do dinner again sometime" Adrien states to himself,
I look to Jordan whos sends me a small smile before mouthing the word "no way".
Although the dinner didn't go half as bad as I'd expected I'd rather not risk trying again and seems I'm not the only one.
I zone out and just watch as Adrien continues to blab on and on, while Jordan just sits there half heartedly nodding in acknowledgment, and trying to listen, occasionally I catch him glancing at me.⋆⋆⋆
"CRASH" The ear splitting noise echoes throughout the room as the glass hits the wall then falls to the floor.
I slowly walk towards the source of the crash.
I feel my body wince as the tiny broken frame shards pierce into the bottoms of my feet but I don't feel the pain.
I make my way to the crumpled photograph laying underneath the layer of shattered glass.
I stop. The photograph lays directly in front of me.
I stare into her kind, taunting eyes as they stare back at me, unmoving, un-living. The mere memory of her smile brings wetness to my eyes.I miss my sister. How long has it been?
Months.
I dig my heels into the the floor. The pain of the glass shards slowly surfacing.
I look down to the red-dampened floor, I feel the wetness under my cold feet. Then realizing what is happening to the photo I fall to my knees and grab the picture of my sister and I.
I quickly try to wipe the blood and glass off the photo but the now, red tinge of the photo sickens me.A tear falls onto the glossy material.
A steady arm pulls me up off of the ground and places me onto my bed.
I slowly glance up to the boy with the ashen white hair.
"What are you doing Lydia?" Jordan murmurs as he brushes back a piece of hair from my eye.
I sit silently, starring at nothing but the blood covered image.
"Lydia" his voice repeats,
"Lydia"
"What is it Jordan?!"
He stares at me for a minute too long before reaching forward and taking the blood soaked picture out of my hands.
He looks down at the photo, he lifts his head, a slight smile has taken over his blank expression.
"She looks just like you" he says
"Yeah well I've never heard that one before" I reply.
"Is that sarcasm? I know I've lived with Nate and Reece for quite a few decades but I still haven't completely figured out the whole sarcasm thing"
I let out a slight laugh, breaking the sadness that's been overtaking my mind all day.
"No it wasn't sarcasm. No one thought we were siblings, she-" I flinch knowing that I have to now use past tense
"was blonde, tanned, naturally airbrushed and tall. And I'm just a pale, freckled short little brunette""Your not short" he replies, his brows furrowed, "your what like... 5'6?"
"Yeah well she was like 5'9" I mumble back,
"I don't see much difference in height unless one person is towering over the other by a good 2 feet"
"Oh"
"And as for the skin, natural freckles are just as cute as naturally airbrushed"
I feel my cheeks begin to redden, oh who am I kidding I feel my whole face start to redden. Did he just call me cute?
He pauses as if realizing what he's just said.
"Anyways my point is that your just as beautiful as your sister if not more"
he pauses again then looks down,I might've laughed at the bright pink blush spreading across his pale cheeks if I hadn't had a forest fire of redness erupting on my own.
"Well erm... Thanks" I state awkwardly
"Yeah uh.. No problem"
I look up, taking in his conflicted expression.
What's he thinking? He finally looks up at me "well I've got to get going"
"Okay" I reply ignoring the pang of sadness at his leaving.
He starts towards the window and I watch as he opens the curtains and buttons his coat. I stand and turn to the door to go downstairs, but before I can step forwards he's in front of me.I freeze as he places a warm kiss on my cheek, then as quickly as he came over he's gone.
I stare at the open window my heart fluttering at a deadly pace inside my chest and my mind racing all over the place.
Whoa
