Days go by, possibly even weeks with that quiet kind of dynamic where he let's you roam as free as you can and you don't ask too many or too intrusive questions. That is until one time when the Wraith asks you a question that's not related to the tests he conducts "Why are you not putting up a fight against me doing this to you? I understand that it must be somewhat socially ingrained into you because of the secondary gender systems humans have but I had Omegas here that fought me more."

You turn your view away from the wall and onto him as he is sitting in a chair next to the medical table you are sitting on and when they catch his yellow eyes you look down replying to him "I guess I am just used to doing what I'm told? I don't know. It's just like back home, where my dad and older brothers had all the say in the house with all three of them being Alphas. You know, it's not fun being a human and a female one with a so called weaker secondary gender at that. We are expected to open our legs for the first Alpha that comes around, bond, have kids, stay at home and basically dedicate all our lives to our husbands after we graduate high school. If they even wait that long. I had Omega and Sigma friends dop out of school after they were claimed by an Alpha or even a Gamma and I know for a fact that some of them didn't want to but their new bondmate demanded it of them."

Your expression turns sour just having to remember all the shit that went down on earth and it made the Wraith even more curious about your backstory but he won't pressure you. He understands that humans can have many different kinds of psychological trauma that are painful to revisit. So instead of asking further he let's you be in your head and turns back to that data tablet he was working on before he asked you the question "Your DNA has assimilated about 100% of the DNA I have given you which is about 2% of the whole amount and a remarkable process considering that other subjects couldn't even get that far or do it so fast."

Pulled out of your what-if's and what-could-be's you look the tablet and feel a sense of pride at beeing praised for something your body does but also confused as to how he knows that you wanted to ask for the progress. "I know because you ask me every single time after these tests on how you were or what the progress is. Your need to be praised is obvious in that." With that he turns away to stow away his tools and you slip from the table, put your soft leather shoes back on and meet the Wraith at the laboratory entrance so he can bring you back into your allowed area.

Normally both of you stay quiet during your walks to an from the lab too but he again decides to do something uncharacteric for him and initiate another small conversation "I think it would be best for your mental state if you occupy yourself with something that would help better said state of mind. Remember I need you in prime condition, even mentally." As soon as he finishes talking you arrived in your common area and he leaves you standing there. All you can do is heave a sigh and look around to find the book that you were reading before he brought you to the laboratory and when you find it you go over to the couches and let yourself fall into one.
