Chelsea's POV
I zoomed through the road. Making trees, buildings and other cars a blurry vision.
Still bothered about my decision. And I feel worse not telling her.
I shook my head the exact time the traffic light turned red. I tapped my two middle fingers on the steering wheel and blew out a deep sigh.
I hope I made the right decision.
I closed my eyes. But my phone rang. Blowing all my thoughts. I reached for it on the phone holder.
The caller ID reads, Ji-Yong
"Hello? Chelsea? Already on your way?"
I chuckled. "Yes. Don't worry. I'll be there in a few. Have you arrived already?"
The traffic moved. But I drove more slowly.
"Yep. Anyway, have you had lunch already?" I imaged him dancing with the heel of his shoes to and fro. Looking up to the sky.
I smiled. "No. So I guess you owe me one. See you later."
"Later."
I hung up throwing my phone to the passengers seat.
Now nervousness is slowly creeping to my veins. Almost closing my arteries, blocking the blood to and from my heart. Making me uneasy to breathe.
I feel a slight vertigo. Like when you ride a plane that is about to take off. Twisting my insides. I breathe in slowly.
I guess I have to tell Ji Yong first. But I know him too well. He loved Nami so dearly he can't help to see her devastated as maybe as she is right now. But I hope she is not. It is also hard for me. Seeing her in this situation.
I sighed.
This is going to be a long talk over lunch. I hope he'll take it lightly as a rainbow with a pot of gold and marshmallows.
**
I killed the engine as I parked it. Taking my sunnies off as I step out of the car.
I walked towards the elevator house. Punching the number 2, where the arrival area is.
I tapped my heels on the short ride up.
I pulled out my phone and texted Ji Yong.
Almost there. Where you at?
I put it back in my purse, quickly walking out. My eyes roamed around the area. Making my high rise ponytail sway from left to right.
I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around.
"Ji Yong!" My arms automatically stretched towards him. He threw his arms towards me and pulled me to him.
"You look beautiful today Chelsea." He complimented.
"Today? According to my husband, it's everyday!" I bluffed. Laughing a bit. He parted, but his hands were still on my shoulder. Shock written all over his face.
"Husband? You mean you're married?"
"Haven't Nami told you?" I asked. He threw a questioning look.
I cleared my throat and pulled him to the elevator.
"Let's go Ji Yong. I'm starving." I whined jokingly. Ji Yong let me drag him.
Ji Yong just stayed quiet until we reached my car. I managed to break the ice when we got in.
"Ji Yong-ah.."
He faced me.
"W-wae?"
I smiled, placing my hands on top of his. Hoping to make him feel better. He smiled back weakly.
He looked out the window. "Why aren't we moving?"
He asked looking back at me. Completely puzzled.
I inhaled. Lunch can wait.
"I don't want to ruin our lunch Ji Yong. I have to tell you something. Something about Nami."
His eyes narrowed. His eyebrows, almost meeting. He bit his lower lip. "What about her?"
"Please calm down first Ji Yong."
He closed his eyes. Inhaled deeply. Forming his pink lips to an 'o' as he slowly excretes carbon.
"Okay. I'm calm. Just tell me."
"You know about her fixed marriage right?"
He clenched his fist. His knuckles were almost white as he silently nodded. I told him everything. I somehow feel uncomfortable about it. Like, I was stabbing someone. But if I let this feeling hidden. It'll flood me. And if I won't learn how to swim, I'll drown.
Tears were forming in his eyes. I placed my hand on the small of his back.
We both feel the same. Sympathy towards Nami. Nami is a little bit naive about relationships—about love. But it's not me to judge. Because I also am. Nobody can't tell. Because love is both mysterious and mundane. Nami built a wall. Separating herself to the world of man. Of course with the exeptance of her brother, Ji Yong. She builted walls to protect herself. Because she knew she was weak and she easily forgives—and that is what we fear of. How she easily forgives.
He is about to cry any minute. But he's holding it back. Trying to look strong.
"Where are they?" He asked on serious tone. His eyes glued to the ground.
"T-their house. A-at Seochodong."
"Step on it." He ordered under his breathe. But it was so authorative it made me shiver.
"W-what?"
"I SAID STEP ON IT!" He shouted. I flinched. My hands tremble as I insert the key. I felt something bad bound to happen after I start the car. So I composed myself and faced Ji Yong.
My eyes widened. His jaws locked. His hands still balled to a fist and his eyes, furiously angry.
"Please Ji Yong. Your anger won't lead to anything good." I pleaded. "Just please! Whatever it is you're thinking hold it in. Do you think Nami wi—"
His eyes met mine.
"Won't you feel the same if your husband cheats on you? Will you mind keeping calm in a situation like this? You know how my sister are Chelsea. You know how weak she is!"
He leaned back to his seat. Covering his face with his hands, groaning.
I froze. We both stayed silent as I start the car.
