Artemis Fowl and the Hunger Games: Chapter 2

Oh gosh guys I'm so sorry. I completely forgot I had this done and it's just been sitting there, waiting to be published and well, yeah I forgot about this entire story. So, here's an extremely short chapter. :/ -Stella Soot. 

Far away, 10 miles out of the Capital.

An arrow shot through the air, piercing the neck of a guard with a sickening wet thud and he crumpled to the ground. The man standing next to him let out a yelp, diving to the ground while looking for the shooter. Another arrow flew from somewhere in the trees and stuck the man in the middle of his back, through a lung. He let our a gurgled scream and rolled onto his back. His vision was dark and clouded, but he watched as a slender form dropped from the trees and crept forward. As it grew closer, he could tell it was female.

She stopped in front of him, a bow and quiver strung across her back and a hand carved, stone dagger in hand. She knelt, looking at the dying man with light hazel eyes. With a sigh, she quickly slit his throat so he wouldn't have to suffer.

After dragging the bodies into the vegetation, she climbed up a tall tree, looking out at the rising sun. At another time, in another life, she would have thought it beautiful. Not now, not anymore. She was changed. She had ran and had been on the run, in the wild for 2 years today. 2 years ago, she was chosen for the reaping and ran. She couldn't go in the arena. She just refused. Now, she worked with the resistance. She fought against the Capital and it's evil ways, to help the others chosen.

This year, they would be initiating their biggest act so far, and she could die. But she would have to take that chance.

A quiet voice spoke in her ear. "Holly?"

She reached up and pressed a tiny button on her ear piece. "Yeah Foaly?"

"Be careful out there and don't get yourself killed."
