Kassie's "POV":

My heart was beating so hard as I was walking over to the Gryffindor table, partly because Harry was sitting there but also because my sister might not be in the same house as me. Her words kept running through my head, 'I'm sure we will get the same house Kass, we are sisters, it only makes sense.'

I sure hope so Ellie, I thought as I sat down beside Hermione and Harry at the gryffindor table. "Hi Kassie!" said Harry in a cheerful voice.

"Oh, hi Harry!" I said, blushing already. Hermione gave me a hug and then we all turned our focus to Elody. She was looking at me smiling.

"Elody Stevens." Called the professor. Elody walked up to the stool and sat down peacefully. She wasn't one bit nervous. How could she not be! The hat was silent for a moment until it started to speak. I wasn't really listening to what it was saying, I was watching my sister the whole time. Finally the hat yelled in a loud voice of satisfaction:

"Better be RAVENCLAW!"

The Ravenclaw table was cheering for her as she walked over to them. She turned around and looked at me with a pity smile and then sat down. I didn't understand, I thought that if we were siblings we would get the same house! I turned around and faced the inside of the table. "It's okay Kassie, you'll still get to be with her everyday." I smiled at Hermione's small gesture.

"Thanks Hermione" I smiled again. I turned around to see Elody shaking some people's hands and making new friends. When the food appeared on the table we all dug in.

"This looks so good, I'm starving," I said as I grabbed some mashed potatoes.

Elody's "POV":

I have to be honest, I am not super disappointed that Kassie and I are in a different house. I love my sister and all, but I need my freedom and space from her sometimes. Mom always makes me watch over her because she needs help trying new things, but I think this year she will make new friends and I don't need to be her only one.

I looked over at her talking To Harry, Ron and Hermione and smiled. I was happy she was making friends, back at home she had one friend, but she moved away so I was her only friend. I turned to the girl sitting next to me. "Hi my name is Elody! what's your name?" I asked the white haired girl.

"My name is Luna Lovegood." She said smiling. She had a super sweet, high pitched voice which I loved. Luna and I talked for a while about school and just random stuff about ourselves. "Is that your sister?" She asked, pointing to Kassie at the Gryffindor table.

"Oh, yeah but we didn't get the same house, I feel bad for her. I'm usually her only friend." Luna smiled then went back to eating her pudding.

At the end of dessert one of the older students led us out of the great hall and we followed him up a huge flight of stairs. Luna and I were looking at the paintings that were moving when the stairs started shifting. "Woah, what's happening?! I didn't know the stairs moved!" Said Elody grasping the railing. Luna laughed, grabbing the railing herself.

"It's quite interesting, you'll never know wear it will lead you." said Luna. When they reached a painting on the wall the older student turned around.

"To get in you must know the password, and don't tell another house ours ok?!" Said the boy. Everyone nodded their heads. "The password is "Everything" The boy walked up to the painting and spoke in a loud clear voice,

"Everything" and the painting opened slowly to reveal a big, blue silver room.

In the middle of the common room, stood a sofa, the color of sapphire blue, with a wooden table in front of it, behind the sapphire sofa stood four bookshelves against the hard cold wall in which a fireplace stood in between them. There were paintings on the walls. The common room had a warm and welcoming atmosphere to it. "Wow!" Said Elody. This is so much cooler than I expected!"

"Yeah!" Luna replied pointing up at the ceiling, which had golden stars on it that danced around freely.

"Ok there will be some ground rules, Girls dormitories are to the right of the staircases, and boys to the left."

Later that night, instead of joining the rest of her classmates sleeping, she sat on the windowsill looking at the beautiful view of the castle, it was pretty high up, although Elody wasn't afraid of heights Kassie was. She never goes anywhere higher than 3 meters. I liked the height, it makes me feel higher than everyone in more ways than one.

(Meanwhile in the Gryffindor Common Room....)

Kassie's "Pov":

I was sitting by the crackling, warm log fire, wondering what my parents were doing this very second. Maybe they were thinking about me and Elody, maybe they were thinking about work, or planning something special for us when we returned for the christmas break? The thought of this got me thinking about Elody. What was she doing? I looked into the hot, burning fire, watching it rise, then descend over and over, zoning off into my book. I wasn't sure how long I was reading here, because I woke up to the sound of footsteps. I quickly sat up and checked the watch on my wrist to see it said 11:30pm. "Oh jeez!" I said out loud.

"Why are you up so late!?" asked a familiar voice. I turned around to see Harry standing there in his striped pj's. I blushed.

"Oh, uh couldn't sleep I guess." I replied nervously.

"Me neither." he said sitting down beside me. "Are you okay Kassie? You looked sad when your sister got into Ravenclaw." Harry asked nicely.

"Yes, I'm ok. It's just that Elody is my bff and now I have no one to talk to" I said tearing up.

"You have me! I'm your friend Kassie" He said smiling at me. When he said this, I blushed really hard, I was sure he could see it, even if the only light was the dying fire in front of us.

"Yeah, I guess you are my friend now" I said, unable to take my eyes off him, still blushing. We sat there in an awkward silence until Harry spoke up.

"You should get some sleep Kassie. Class starts early tomorrow and I don't want you to be tired" He got up and held a hand out to help me up. I grabbed it and stood up, I was trying to hold in the blush. Harry's hand was so soft and gentle as he helped me up.

"Ok, thanks Harry'' I said in a sleepy voice. We walked up the stairs then went our separate ways to the dorms. I put my book on my night stand and slumped onto my bed, it was so satisfyingly comfortable but I could fall asleep. My thoughts slowly drifted off to Elody. I couldn't stop thinking about her. I dozed off to sleep finally around midnight.
