When Harry walked into a room, it grew 10 times brighter. And he had no idea.

I realized that when I visited him at his job. Harry had texted me earlier that day that he was working but promised to stop by later. Waking up earlier than everyone else, I didn't have much to do. I tried reading but just like yesterday, I reread the same sentence a hundred times. I groaned and shut the book, looking around the silent kitchen trying to look for something.

I looked at my phone which would occasionally buzz from my friends. I had Instagram but rarely used it, not because I didn't like it, but just because I was unsure what to post on it. The app ranged from random selfies to posting vacation pictures and as much as I wanted to share my writing and my pictures, I would always chicken out, afraid of judgment.

Jess came in a little later, following her usual routine of grumbling, getting coffee, laying on the couch, and finally speaking in complete sentences after 10 minutes.

"You hanging with Anne's son again?" She asked mid-yawn.

"Maybe later. He's working today," I say into my mug. "I was hoping to spend the day with my dad but he'll probably be too busy," I frown.

Jess sits up and hugs her legs. "How bout we do a little girls day? Jus you en me?" Jess's accent was a mix between Cheshire English and New York American after living with my Uncle for almost 20 years, somehow convincing him to leave America for this small town. I loved her for that. She knew what she wanted and pushed for it.

I wish I was like that. But making decisions never came easy to me.

I agree to spend the day with her. She first takes me to a small consignment shop where we try on clothes. It was a cute store, decorated with plants and random photos of unknown people. I snap a picture of my phone in awe of this place.

"I knew you'd like it," Jess said with a smile

"I knew you'd like it," Jess said with a smile. She walked over to a rack with bright colored jackets and pulled out an orange one with sequins. "Not my taste but would look lovely in New York wouldn't it," She giggled.

I roll my eyes as she puts it back and keeps looking. I walk around, looking for something to try on when a pair of jeans catch my eye. Sun rays are painted on each side of the pant legs and stars are scattered in the middle. I turn it over and on the pockets are the words You Sunshine painted on one pocket and You Temptress painted on the other.

I wonder what that means.

I hold onto the pants before continuing to look around the store. I find a few more shirts and go to try them on.

The pants, unfortunately, don't fit but some of the shirts do which Jess buys for me and we leave the store satisfied.

"I'm surprised those jeans didn't fit love. They suit you so well!" Jess and I walk into the main area of town to get something to eat as the sun starts to come out of its hiding spot among the clouds.
